1. MALE OR FEMALE?We used a variety of people in order to gain a larger set of views of our secondary audience.

We felt that this mix of males and females will help us to understand exactly what the average person thinks about the pressures that men face in todays society.

2. DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A PRESSURE FOR MEN TO LOOK A CERTAIN WAY?

As you can see from the pie chart, 70% of people asked agreed that there was a definite pressure for men to look a particular way.

Not only does this support our idea for the documentary, but allows helps us decide on what to include when filming.

For example, due to the majority of people agreeing, we would include more statistics rather than trying to show people why men face pressure to look good.

3. WOULD YOU WANT A DOCUMENTARY ON THE PRESSURES OF MALE BODY IMAGE TO APPEAL TO BOTH TEENAGERS AND OLDER AUDIENCES?

After asking this group of people, it is evident that the majority of them want to see a documentary which appeals to not one, but two target audiences (teenagers and older audiences)

The data on the left allows us to understand that we need to produce a more professional documentary in order to appeal to the mix of audiences.

4. IF YES, WOULD YOU PREFER A DOCUMENTARY WITH A FEW EXPERT OPINIONS TO CONTRADICT THE VIEWS OF TEENAGERS?

We agree with the 5 people who said that experts should be included, because we felt that our documentary would not be as professional as it could’ve been if we didn’t use them.

Expert opinions will help to back up any views that we say when presenting, as well as contradicting some of the views expressed by students and the general public when we film out vox pops.

5. DO YOU FEEL LIKE TEENAGERS WATCH ENOUGH EDUCATION BASED PROGRAMMES?

70% of people said that teenagers do not watch enough education based programmes.

This has made us decide that we are going to make a documentary which is both appealing and informative to the younger audience, so that we can try and reduce this number & increase the amount of educational programmes that teenagers watch in modern society today.

6. DO YOU FEEL LIKE VANITY IN BOYS HAS INCREASED OVER THE YEARS?

There are many reasons to suggest why 8 out of 10 people said that vanity in boys has increased. One of which includes celebrity influence.

The drastic influence that celebrities have on their younger followers is resulting in the dramatic increase in pressures for both males and females. However, the male pressures have been growing a lot faster than female recently, which is why we have chosen this topic to discuss throughout our documentary.

7. IF YES, DO YOU FEEL THAT THE MEDIA IS PARTLY TO BLAME FOR THIS?

7 our of 8 people agreed that the media is to blame for the increasing pressures that males face every day.

The 1 person that said no believed that peer pressure was the main reason for the increase. We can understand where he is coming from, but after doing some research it was clear that the peer pressure was likely caused by a lack of confidence in the peers, who are going through the same sort of thing with their body image.
