The position plays a key role in collaborating with all levels of the organisation to build project management capability via the design and implementation of a project management framework, including the development of associated tools, resources and educating management in framework application. The position will also be responsible for developing, monitoring, reviewing and reporting on projects in accordance with RAQ’s Project Governance Framework. Key Responsibilities Project Management Establish Project Management as a concept through the deployment of effective strategies and development of processes. Work with Project Teams to develop and maintain all project management documentation and on-going administration involved in delivering a project, at all stages of the project lifecycle, from project definition through planning, action/monitoring, and finalisation. Play a coordination and reporting role for the delivery of organisational projects as delegated by the General Manager - Strategy and Innovation. Regularly review, ascertain milestones and assess the achievement of the objectives contained within the Strategic Plan. Make complex judgements, decisions, and provide recommendations to address barriers to a projects success. Quickly and accurately identify significant issues and risks to the management of individual projects and communicate the business implications to key stakeholders to ensure project success. Work collaboratively with RAQ’s Change Manager to implement projects.

About the Role The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate, monitor and evaluate the achievement of projects across the

Project Governance Assist in the development and review of project governance policies, procedures, processes, tools and resources, and play a key role in their implementation.

Ensure that RAQ’s Project Management and Governance Framework, including templates and processes, are maintained and enhanced, through implementing reporting mechanisms and evaluation tools that support reflection and continuous improvement.

Ensure all assigned projects, including those where a coordination role is applicable, adheres to RAQ’s Project Governance Framework.

Project Reporting Develop and refine data capture, reporting tools and processes to meet the diverse range of business, client and stakeholder requirements.

Manage the input, collation and output of the project management reporting systems for delegated projects, including provide regular and ad hoc reports to satisfy individual project, portfolio, or Executive requirements.

Leadership and Organisational Development

Contribute to the Strategy and Innovation Group, enabling a high performance culture that reflects a high level of teamwork and collaboration.

Build organisational capability in project management by educating RAQ employees to understand their role in leading and contributing to projects.

Provide organisational learnings, including via the measurement, utilisation, and evaluation of project indicators and performance data, to ensure progress is made in the application of project management principles across key stakeholders.

Provide leadership and guidance to Project Sponsors and Project Teams on complex aspects of project management, including influencing senior managers and Executives to increase project success.

Build and maintain excellent working partnerships with management by providing high level advice and support, focused on organisational excellence.

As a subject matter expert, work in collaboration with the Learning and Development Team to increase awareness and competency in project management across RAQ by contributing to the design of education programs and devising of learning strategies.

Work with Project Teams and the Change Manager to ensure effective communication occurs across key stakeholder groups, applying best practice change management principles to increase project awareness and success.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have:

Required Highly Desired

Qualifications Relevant tertiary undergraduate qualification.

Membership with the Australian Institute of Project Management.

Project Management certification.

Experience A strong track record of coordinating or managing the delivery of a portfolio of interdependent projects within specified timeframes.

Demonstrated capacity to source relevant organisational information to understand future business needs and preempt potential project risks, issues and challenges.

Previous delivery of strategic advice and support to senior management.

Delivery of policy and procedure development, review and implementation.

Experience in the application of a Project Management Methodology such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK), Prince2 or Agile.

Experience in the application of a Change Management Methodology in the delivery of projects.

Knowledge

Understanding of project management frameworks and principles.

Understanding of change management principles.

Ability to identify effective project governance frameworks that match organisational need and context.

A sound knowledge of the Not-for-Profit sector, the Australian Government Department of Social Services and Department of Human Services.
