Position Overview
The Digital and Design Communication team provides specialist digital communication services within the Ministerial & Communication Services directorate of Corporate Services Division.
This team is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Department's web presence, and intranet. The Digital Communication offer the following services:
project management and supervision of online projects undertaken by FACS
redevelopment of FACS websites (Subject to resource availability and project scoping) - including visual mock-ups, prototyping, front-end development, testing and deployment. We can provide guidance on whether the proposed redevelopment is appropriate and supervise any outsourced projects.
development of secure online forms
web and intranet content changes and uploads, including page layout, coordination of large-scale updates, use of multimedia and advice on web best practice including accessibility
publication, monitoring and strategic advice in relation to social media
Web and social media analytics/reporting
Key Tasks
Increasingly the information access is going Digital and warrants specialist skills to be part of this world. Spending time with this team will allow the Intern to (based on the area of interest):
Gain knowledge of activities involved in managing digital presence – specifically website and Intranet

Learning basics of content management system used for publishing digital content
Publishing digital content to websites and Intranet under guidance
Understanding digital accessibility and engage in tasks related to building accessible digital assets under guidance
Testing activities related to implementation of digital assets
Communicating with the stakeholders regarding digital publishing requirements
Acquire customer service skills
Team related activities that celebrate achievements and togetherness
Ideal Degree/Discipline
Web design, web management, digital publishing.

Eligibility Requirements
Currently studying in penultimate year of a relevant undergraduate or post-graduate degree with an Australian university (due to graduate in 2018)
Australian citizenship May be subject to reference checks, criminal history clearance and working with children
