Position Overview
Community Linkage Officers will support Linkage Coordinators to assist people with disability to connect with community supports and peer networks that facilitate living an ordinary life. Community Linkage Officers build community capacity and assist people with disability to access appropriate services regardless of NDIS eligibility.
The Community Linkage Officer will support a range of community development activities. Working in partnership with other organisations, local councils and public services. The Community Linkage Officer will be supporting and reporting to the Linkage Coordinator to complete activities including:
Developing effective relationships with people with disability, peer support groups and local advocacy groups
Supporting people with disability to establish solutions with their peers that will relieve dependency on formal support structures
Supporting the development and use of tools and resources for people with disability and their families to self-advocate
Supporting ongoing relationships and help connect people with disability to external peer groups, support groups and advocacy groups
Actively advocate for a community that is diverse, inclusive and accessible.

Demonstrated experience in customer facing environments that support or provide service to the community
Ability to work in a highly flexible, dynamic and changing environment with well-developed organizational, time management skills and ability to and prioritise

Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of team to achieve outcomes
Great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationshipexternally and internally
Understanding of and emplathy with the values and ideals of the Brotherhood
Ideal Degree/Discipline
Social studies, Pyschology, Community Development and Community Health or Similar.
Remuneration
$25.76 per hour and super contribution
Eligibility Requirements
Stage of study - second last or final year/undergraduate or postgraduate
Citizenship status - Australian Citizens, International Student Visa with working rights
