Audience and purpose of the portfolio (2A.P1)

The audience for my portfolio is the IT company konnekted. Also for other employers in the future and for further education, colleges and universities. The manager of konnekted wants to recruit an apprentice.

The purpose of my E-portfolio is to show how suitable I am for the job in konnekted also it displays my skills, show how responsible I am, how I can meet deadlines, my qualifications, and to show all the work I have completed.

User requirements

To make a good portfolio I has to be creative, look inviting and good use of colour. All links should work, clear layout and good navigation it should also have interesting content, Images still or moving, interact, text, video, animation, good range of assets and look professional. It must be user friendly, I also may include eight pages. It also must be uploaded to a server.

Difference between design one and two:

The difference between design 1 and 2 is:

Design 1 has red and blue text boxes with a mixed colour background, black writing and the boxes are placed at the top of the page

Design2 I have used a white background with black text blue and orange and blue text boxes my text boxes are down the side of the page

I have chosen design 2 because it is the one that stands out the most to me because of the nice simple text boxes and simple writing it is easy to understand and access.

Justification of design

I have chosen design one as I feel is better constructed than design two. There is a good use of colour throughout, the background colour is white and the font colour is black I think this colour scheme is very professional looking as well as inviting. The text boxes have a splash of colour on the outside of them to make them standout against the background colour. I feel that my design two is more laid back as it does not look very professional the colour scheme is very bright and not very inviting. I used a black font so the writing would stand out against the white background. The purpose of my website is to try and persuade the company konnekted to hire me. It is essential that I make information included clear and easy to read and understand. I think my design one would be more beneficial as there is a good use of sentences, bullet points, headings and also short and interesting sentences. It also includes good use of graphics. The font is reasonable size so the target audience are not squinting to read the information provided.

How I have meet the user requirements

I have meet the user requirements by including at least eight pages in my website. I have also included animated and still images and a video about why I would like a job at konnekted I have included music to shown my editing skills. In my design I have produced an attracting colour scheme. I have laid out the pages clearly and included a good navigation system. It is user friendly and will be uploaded to a server.

How the assets selected enhance the portfolio?

The assets that I have included in my portfolio are …

Text- text enhances my portfolio by showing the important information. This means the user will be able to read all the information about me

Images- the images included gives the reader some visual aid and also a picture of me.

Video- a video gives the company and idea of what kind of person I am as the video is about me and why I would like to have a job at konnekted.

Templates- templates make my portfolio look well laid out and professional and consistent making the website more user friendly and accessible for the target audience.

Links/navigation buttons- navigation buttons lets the viewer access the website easier as well as navigating around it. links are added so the viewer can access other websites to get more in depth information.

Layout- the layout is important as it contributes to making the portfolio look professional and easy to follow. A consistent layout makes the website user friendly.

How will the navigation system aid user interaction?

I have chosen navigation button so it is easier to access and navigate around the website. I have divided up my portfolio to make it more understandable and easy to follow. I have chosen specific page titles for my navigation bar to make my portfolio professional and easy to understand and access. The page names and button names are straight forward and easy for the user to understand where they are linking to.

All links to all pages will be consistent on each page making the webpage easy for the user to navigate.
