Located in Los Angeles next to Echo Park, this project focused on the development of a civic center based on the vertical organi-zation of community programs. The concept was derived from the deformation of one of the simplest forms, a cube. The cube was manipulated through cutting, twisting, adding and subtracting volumes of space in order to generate circulation throughout the program, which became an important component in this project. Which is then perforated to help connect views and programs.

This project was based on reinventing the idea of communal living and the impact it has on public space. A private program, loft spaces, and a public program, hotel spaces, are integrated together through vertical hierarchy of programmatic options. Lower level programs were considered more public ranging to more private in higher level pro-grams. This concept allows for the divisibility between public and private spaces while still integrating both through public amenities.

The Aquatic Centre will serve as an archi-tectural component with an urban strategy to connect the Stratford area to the Olympic park, unifying both the town and country. The concept of integration between land-scape and building was used to represent the relationship between form, function, and ecology. Multiple studies of framed spaces lead to the reconstruction of the site; taking the site and lifting up to frame various views along the axis with an existing cross axis as a connection between the city and site.

MULTI-UNITlos angeles
The redevelopment of the multi-unit housing was intended to incorporate a lifestyle that would show appreciations for pets, thus viewing pets as a companion and a part of the household. The upper units, acts as a garden top that makes the accessibility into the exterior environment easier for each unit and their pet. The garden top also func-tions as a public and private space to ac-commodate a larger gathering or a more intimate setting. The three towers function as light wells providing a natural lighting source while dissipating nose. They are a pivotal source of circulation out the complex while providing extra storage for each unit.
