SPRING CITY RESORTRavishing v iews of green bamboo and old camphor trees, beaut iful scenes of clear sky and setting sun; it’s a peaceful world but birds chirping, natural sound, the crescent and pleasant breeze. Spring City Resort was surrounded by natural beauties. Resort is located in the Beitou district, north-east of Taipei, erected on a mountain slope, the valley surrounded by Sha-mou, Da-tun and Chi-hsing Mountains, a dormant volcano area which are famous of Hot spring activity.

conceptJapanese colonise, the hot springs have improved to include aroma therapy, massage, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and excellent cuisine which complement the entire spa experience. Spring City Resort, peacefully located in this charming city. Japanses style design, bring guest going to a modern Japanese design and traditional Japanese hot spring culture.

Lobby TeaWhen the guests are waiting for check in, they can have a cup of the traditional Japanese drink Matcha and some snack w ith natural sound from waterfall. The floor seating like sitting on the tatami and enjoy the water sound, it is the embodiment of human breathing even after being woven, purifies the air and calms the mind, makes people healthy and lively. Furthermore, waterfall features are especially powerful in the wealth and career areas in Chinese Feng Shui.

A lt h o u g h Wenshan is in Taipei city, it seems rather remote at first sight; surrounded by mountains, many people f ind i t i s a good pl ace to escape downtown Ta ipe i . On weekends, many people dr ive to Maokong to enjoy one of the area ' s numerous teahouses and to breathe the fresh a ir .

CONCEPT

The client is a young couple who just set tled in Ta iwan. Their passion for nature and a sensitive propensity for living quality brought them to purchase this apartment. The home shows a plan of an intensified order; its public space faces a community courtyard while the private zone recedes inward. This home is a total relaxation nest in contrast to the husband’s extra busy daily work schedule.

The public space is an open quarter while the layout of the furniture pieces provides a precise spatial boundary. Portable furniture pieces are also convenient for the kid’s active lifestyle. A open kitchen table allows the wife’s visual contact with the child. A big dining table set in a marble based, the idea from tradition Japanese style dining table and sit on tatami. The space gives the family a chance to eat, read and study together and leisurely enjoy their life.

Natural lighting penetrates deep into the converged zone and gr ay m i rrors i n c r e a s e t h e l i g h t i n g quality in this quarter. Sliding doors replace fixed partitions and fixed doors then create a dynamic space without being restrained by any physical border. Mirrors play another role as introducing mountain v i e w s i n t o t h e r o o m s and create a close link.

Warm color walnut wood is mostly used material it s ignif icantly builds the air of the residence. Gray in three different levels of gradations creates a good match to the wood co lor . A l l t h e s pa c e s reveal an air of tranquility a n d c r e at e a s e n s i b l e touch for the dwel ler who enjoys a l i festyle without frequent agitation.

The mayor of Berkeley, Tom Bates will entertain ideas and designs that might make up this interpretive cultural center. The site, now occupied by the Sea Breeze Café, right off highway 80, has enormous potential for public access and is a stone throw away from the actual shellmound historic site, protected from development. The goals for Cultural Center are basic; give the visitor a brief glance into the Ohlone world hundreds of years ago when the Ohlone Bay was thought of as one of the most beautiful lands and seas in North America.

INSPIRATION

The Ohlone subs isted ma inly as hunter -gatherers and in some ways harvesters . The i r s taple d i e t cons i s t ed of crushed acorns, nuts, grass seeds, berries, fish and seafood including mussels andabalone from the San Francisco Bay and Pacif ic Ocean.

I n g e n e r a l , a l o n g t h e b a y s h o r e a n d val leys , the Ohlone constructed dome -shaped houses of woven or bundled mats of tules, 6 to 20 feet.8 to 6 m) in diameter.

They wore an imal sk in capes . Both wore ornamentation of necklaces, shell beads and abalone pendants, and bone wood earrings with shells and beads. The ornamentation often indicated status within their community.

Gou Lan Restaurant

Under the name of Oriental Spirit and the name of Gou Lan. Gou Lan is a performance place in Song Dynasty. The design’s intent was to bring Chinese motif to the design and translate what we have conceived as “Chinese style” into a modernistic representation. A professional assessment required both a large size dining space and private rooms. Gou Lan has to innovation and development, style and health for consumers.

Sky lanterns has a symbol of prayers to the gods for their blessings in Taiwanese c u lt u r e . T h e s i g h t o f thousands of Sky lanterns carrying peoples’ wishes and slowly floating into the night sky is a sight to behold.

Gou Lan is a performance place in Song Dynasty. In Northern Song Dynasty of China, the society was relatively stable and the economy developed rapidly. Therefore, that made all kinds of cultural events and entertainment become very plentiful. The performance placed in Song Dynasty was always set up with rail fence in the vacant lot nearby the markets, then build a stage.
