I am inquiring with you regarding a potential position with your firm. I am in the process of completing my Master’s in Architecture at the University of Detroit Mercy and working towards becoming a licensed Architect. I am looking for an internship with possibility of full time employment.

My strongest assets include being well organized, dependable and self-motivated. I strive to learn more about the architecture profession as a product of creative thinking amongst a community to further better our environments. I am versatile in many computer programs including: AutoCAD, Revit, 3Ds Max, Microstation, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I have a strong motivation to learn/succeed; driving to a higher standard of excellence.

The University of Detroit Mercy Architecture Library is an addition to the current campus library. The project is an activation of key areas around the renovated Fisher Plaza. The key areas, the entrance of

the library and cafe entrance, are along the two most traveled paths leading across the campus. Pockets of green spaces create pockets

of semi-private areas that can be used for studying, lounging or recreational activities.

Similar to the exterior design, the interior focuses on the private and public spaces of the

library. Entrances are located on the east and west sides of the building. An elongated curtain wall at

the base level charges the library displaying its interior and activities. The main entrance opens

up to an atrium that allows the library to breathe. The auditorium located along the east wall creates a flow into the atrium from the east entrance near the cafe. A third entrance from the existing library moves along the courtyard and joins two libraries.

Occupying the second level is the archived collection of books. The stacks are illuminated creating a central focus in the middle at the

research node. The most private floor is the third level with large and small

conference rooms for individual or group studying. An outdoor patio is

open to students to study or socialize overlooking the Fisher Plaza.

The auditorium provide gathering space for three hundred people. The space is designed for optimum site lines and auditory comprehension. Lighting integrated between acoustical ceiling panels allow adequate light to each row of seating. Recessed down lights illuminate both aisles.

WOODWARD AVE & GREENDALE ST. W.DETROIT, MI

The billboard project is the development of a cultural music center. The idea of one’s surroundings and reflections creates an environment developed from

the quality of music. On lower levels, the user experiences music in rooms composed of various materials producing altering effects on the music. The upper levels, offers a glimpse into the research of music. The design allows the user to reflect on the environment and provides the views to the exterior

allowing them to reflect on the building’s environment.

GRZYBOWSKA & WRONIAWARSAW, POLAND

The restaurant and brewery is part of a collaborative design. The project, an urban block development, is geared towards engaging public activity into the community. A green way wraps the site createing an interior public plaza for

performances, gathering and socializing. The brewery embodies the greenway as the restaurant wraps around the brewery making it the central focus of the interior.

W. 11 MILE RD & MAXWELL AVE.ROYAL OAK, MI

The Royal Oak YMCA Community Center, located on 11 Mile, focuses on the revitalization of the previous center.

Large open spaces allow the building and its users to breathe. The YMCA is an important connection between

11 Mile and Sherman Rd. engaging the community. Upon entering the YMCA are a series of terraces creates a public

path. The pathway provides glimpses into the natatorium and gymnasium to observe activities.

Entering the YMCA, the user feels the weight of the building pushing them into the atrium. The atrium then opens up to the interior, allowing itself to breathe. The large

bearing walls are broken up with expansive glazing creating a light feeling to the building and allow natural light to enter the building.

HARMONIE PARK, DETROIT, MI

The bookend project, a collaborative design between members of the studio, is the work/residence of a craftsman. The smith shop

is perched above the ground level, imitating a canopy of forest. As one transverses up through the building, more of the

surroundings are exposed, like that of climbing a tree.

The smith shop offers three levels of public spaces; a plaza at the ground level, a public shop to watch the wood carving process, and a roof top community that is joined by all six designs.

The coffee cafe feels warm and inviting embodying the feeling of home. The floor plan compartmental in plan for customers who choose to stay and those quickly

stopping by. On the upper level, there is lounge style seating

The culinary school on Washington Boulevard is located off Grand Circus Park. The string rectilinear facade along Washington, allows a more organic form to

give way on the interior of the site. The interior courtyard encompasses a vegetative wall draping over the structure of the existing buildings on the site.

Urban farming in the courtyard and on the gardens on the lower roofs provide ingredients to the culinary school. Glazing facing out to the courtyard allows a peaceful backdrop against the fast pace environment of the city. Bridging the gap of the renovation and existing structure, a library resides, and serves as a termination of the vegetative wall.
