Due to his fascination and passion for creative archi- tecture, the professional background of Carlos is var- ied. After finishing his Master Degree in Architecture in Barcelona in 2002, he finished a Postgraduate Degree in 2010 in Advanced Design and Digital Architecture (ADDA) in Elisava School of Design, focusing on the relevance of the new digital paradigms in the design process. For more than 12 years he has been successfully working internationally as an independent Project Archi- tect and Design Director, enrolled in several projects around China, Nigeria, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Spain. Since 2012 he has been performing tasks in Shen- zhen, China. His current responsibilities include being Team Lead- er and Project Designer, having been in charge of proj- ects at the same time in several countries. Moreover, he has also been working as University lecturer at UPC/ ETSAB (Architecture University in Barcelona), and in UPF/ IQS (Engineering University in Barcelona). He has considerable experience in the field of con- struction and architecture augmented by a formal edu- cation. His resume details several international work ex- perience and skills, giving him the proper tools for a XXI century architect working in an international environ- ment.

    The complexity of this project is based on the vast empty space that lies between the site of the 4 buildings and government build-ing in Longgang.

    The idea is to contrast the complexity of the geometric simplicity place, achieving a per-fect functionality in terms of flow of people.Mainly the intention is to communicate pea-tonalmente two bus stations in the opposite position by two curved arms shaped ramp, which in turn embrace dragon sculpture in the center of the square, and connect one with the bank of the river, and the other with the elevated metro station.

    The concept of hug comes from the dragon silhouette on the central sculpture plaza, which ascends the staff to which he cuddles with his elongated body.

    Due to bamboos nature, 1 single building wouldnt be enough. Concept for a bamboo forest where their distribution and height follows the plots orientation and shape. All buildings have perfect sunshine radiation and enjoy the best views. This distribution gives us a feeling of growth, as bamboo does.

    A shape has been created where bamboo would give its best performance as structural ma-terial. 20 m units: 1 single 30 m tall bamboo can cover it all. Crossing and the two main structural cylinders ensure the stability of the skyscrapers. Structural elements calcu-lated to perform slabs stiffness.

    Stainless steel used as the joints material between bamboo. 260 m tall building cannot be tied with ropes. ETFE used as main materi-al for the facade, providing high corrosion resistance and strength over a wide tempera-ture range. It has a very high melting tem-perature, excellent chemical, electrical and high energy radiation resistance properties.

    Relationship between buildings through plat-forms in height, creating a community where Architectural village can develope its own public activities. Public spaces where nature and technology come together to create an atmosphere of serenity. Central vertical core, with helix slope for bicycles, give us the chance to communicate all them together

    Downtown of Evansville / Haynies Corner (historically significant and serves an im-portant anchor of the Art District).

    Exhibition Showroom based on the idea of Endless life: Moebius Strip, back to Bud-dhisms origin after death people will rein-carnate again. Art is forever, immortal.

    Through the Architectural Promenade, the visitors are able to enjoy a tour of the artistic legacy of Evansville, while chang-ing their perspective and point of view, al-lowing them to have an enriching experience, increasing their knowledge about the city.

    Using this mathematical idea with endless form, a two-dimensional sheet with only one surface that can only exist in a three-dimen-sional space, we blur the boundary of out-side and inside space, increasing the flexi-bility and the interest of the building.

    The concept idea for the faades was to use the images that everybody have in their mind when we talk about the human habit of smok-ing: cigarettes, smoke and tobacco leaves.

    The first one uses the simile of the cigarette paper unwrapped, which completely covers the factory with a sinuous curve trying to wrap the empty large volume.

    The volume of the office building and rooms for employees, responds on the basis of a module pattern, taken from the nerves that can be found on a tobacco leave and simu-lating a pattern of the ancient Chinese tra-dition.

    In the second stage, the faade idea is just taking a picture about the cigarette smoke, and digitizing it we can adapt to transform into our main image.

    After visiting the site and doing some re-search of it and the surroundings, we face a main problem in this design: how to make our building unique and innovative but in harmo-ny with the surrounding buildings...

    The most impressive thing from our under-standing of the surrounding environment is that all the different buildings around our site are six, seven or eight floors height which means there are a few high-rise build-ings there, and if we design some ordinary building with one or two towers with a po-dium, by one side, it is very hard to show an innovative character on it, and by other side, it will look too much different volumetrical-ly from the surrounding buildings, so we are using the concept of growing up in our de-sign.

    The proposed concept is to split horizontal-ly all the small areas of the assignment pro-gram in 4 towers, and to split vertically all the big spaces of the assignment program in 4 platforms.

    Our proposal will not be one or two tow-ers with similar height depending on all the different functions asked and the shape of the site. This innovative design will have four towers growing up one by one, from one cor-ner of the site to the other, to form a whole circulation.

    The Chancery of the Embassy of Spain in Abu-ja that have projected intends its presence and its importance as a unique building butturn generate a volume that although large, is giving a feeling weightless protection and shelter to its members.

    The building has been generated under a large covered Mother Country that pro-tects from sun and rain to building users and internally or sight, offers the warmth of being at home for his cozy wooden surface. The cover rotates and becomes facade back-drop of the building, welcome people wanting to enter the building.

    Under this great protective cover Mother-land The building is articulated by way of dominoes stacked neatly on a vertical axisbackbone is the Spanish Patio closed in-side but open to the outside. It is a court-yard that cools the building and articulates around the circulations of the plants. The shape of stacking dominoes is changeable de-pending on the plant, so that different cov-ered porches that protect the generated sun and allow the use of events abroad, tak-ing advantage of the kindness of the weather outside hottest hours.

    Lesseps Square is a great urban space that articulates road connections with high traf-fic areas public use, communicating and Gra-cia districts Sarria-Sant Gervasi, also pro-vides a connection point to the Metro in its line 3 and soon in his line 9, which comple-ments its accessibility from anywhere in the city. The zonification corresponds mostly building residential and small businesses, considered this area as highly dynamic and mobility in their daily activities.

    The study area for the urban edge is delim-ited that generates the plane of facades of buildin cations penetrating perimeter and ex-tends to some fits of interest.An important feature of the morphologies obtained so far, is that the overlap the mesh-es obtained from the various materials and Flock generate other volumes contained within larger, suggesting cation scheme buil-din where there is an internal surface and an outer, that can be linked structurally togenerating a freestanding Hypersurface wherein intern different qualities of spaces are provided and external.

    Volumetrically the building responds to a particular program with 2 different types of volumes:

    -One closed cube-shaped but with some win-dows where the program focuses prominent offices like hall of Acts, protocol head-quarter, deputy governor office and the gov-ernor executive office.

    -The other volume forms a complete U made by glass developed around a central covered courtyard to complete the program needed for the proper functioning of the offices.

    The hub stands out the rest of the building, part of the opaque material, for a spin on the ground and, moreover, gives even more important to stand above the rest of the building because has one extra floor.

    The stadium occupies the gap on a plot of over 50 Ha as a dominant sculpture in the environment.The shape of the stadium is viewed from far as a sculpture ordering the territory as an attraction. The gentle but prominent curved, like its golden color metal stand as a new jewel in the city.

    The building seeks to highlight from the land-scape of the city and its colorful sparkles in line with the green of the nearby trees. The stadium is the icon of sports desire for a city that wants to establish itself as a new land-mark of the region and the country.The main criterion when designing the stadi-um has been adjusted to optimize the balance between functionality, economy and aesthet-ics and achieve that perfect gear on the building works.

    La necessitat de recuperar el color viu que caracteritza una ciutat cosmopolita ens ha portat a qu a les plantes superiors, els arrebossats i pintats siguin les caracterstiques dominants, respectant en tot moment el codi de colors elaborat per l'Institut Municipal del Paisatge Urb i la qualitat de vida, a la Carta de colors de Barcelona, una eina indispensable en els treballs de millora i restauraci de les faanes de la nostra ciutat.

    Les finestres i tancaments de faana, sn substituts per nous elements actuals, fent servir l'alumini anoditzat com a material base, amb vidres amb cambra d'aire i trencament de pont trmic per tal de redur els costos de despesa energtica.

    La introducci de nous materials donar un caire d'avantguarda en la imatge general de la intervenci.

    L'estratgia projectual a adoptar en aquesta intervenci ens aproxima a la realitat social de la zona, i ens obliga a donar un caire de modernitat a la intervenci.

    La proposta presentada ofereix als antics edificis presents, la oportunitat de reviure una segona juventut, transformant-se i adaptant-se a les exigncies esttiques i formals de l'actualitat arquitectnica.

    Els criteris constructius adoptats parteixen de la necessitat de donar un canvi d'imatge integral al barri, intentant que els seus vens gaudeixin dels nous criteris volumtrics que ordenen les edificacions existents, mitjanant les segents intervencions:

    1.- Regularitzaci de les diferents alades de coronaci dels edificis mitjanant el creixement o l'eliminaci de sistemes constructius obsolets, per tal de reajustar les diferncies entre ampits i terrasses.

    2.- Conservaci del nombre de buits de faana, tot reordenant en diferents agrupacions la seva disposici, massa dispersa i desordenada actualment.

    3.- Canvi de la imatge d'edificis en parcelles individuals allades, per la de conjunts edificatoris dialogants entre ells.

    4.- Utilitzaci de materials d'alta qualitat en les intervencions, per tal de revalorar a l'ala l'economia i la dignitat del barri, tot recuperant una millor qualitat de vida per als seus habitants.

    5.- Creaci de noves regles formals referents a l'imatge de faana, mitjanant la utilitzaci de materials novedosos tals com les malles metlliques arquitectniques d'acer inox, a mode de "cortina" situada pel davant de la faana existent.

    6.- Collocaci de persianes correderes a les obertures en orientacions solarment adverses, per tal de redur l'impacte energtic de les radiacions en poques estivals.

    L'estratgia projectual a adoptar en aquesta intervenci ens aproxima a la realitat social de la zona, i ens obliga a donar un caire de modernitat a la intervenci.

    La proposta presentada ofereix als antics edificis presents, la oportunitat de reviure una segona juventut, transformant-se i adaptant-se a les exigncies esttiques i formals de l'actualitat arquitectnica.

    Els criteris constructius adoptats parteixen de la necessitat de donar un canvi d'imatge integral al barri, intentant que els seus vens gaudeixin dels nous criteris volumtrics que ordenen les edificacions existents, mitjanant les segents intervencions:

    1.- Regularitzaci de les diferents alades de coronaci dels edificis mitjanant un sistema de lamelles d'alumini, disposades per davant del pla de faana existent, per tal d'ocultar les diferncies entre ampits i terrasses.

    2.- Conservaci del nombre de buits de faana, tot reordenant en diferents agrupacions la seva disposici, massa dispersa i desordenada actualment.

    3.- Canvi de la imatge d'edificis en parcelles individuals allades, per la de conjunts edificatoris dialogants entre ells.

    4.- Utilitzaci de materials d'alta qualitat en les intervencions, per tal de revalorar a l'ala l'economia i la dignitat del barri, tot recuperant una millor qualitat de vida per als seus habitants.

    5.- Eliminaci i substituci d'elements constructius obsolets pertanyents a sollucions constructives antigues.

    6.- Collocaci de persianes correderes a les obertures en orientacions solarment adverses, per tal de redur l'impacte energtic de les radiacions en poques estivals.

    The project arises from the very clear and simply distribute the spaces and areas of the program, classified ac-cording to the type of work performed, subdivided by plants.

    Thus we find, in the basement, the ar-eas of facilities, storage and archiving; on the ground floor, connected to the ground floor of the building Pas-seig Joan Brudieu the access area, re-ception and control, and new toilets adapted; on the first floor, also con-nected to the first floor of the ex-isting building, all program areas of administration and municipal services; while on the second floor we find the area of infrastructure and environ-ment.

    The third floor will remain unused, waiting to be occupied by new manage-ment areas and expansion of existing ones, in the same way that the surface free obtained in the attic or floor Roof, which is available services of the County Council for its use and proper use.

    Actualment l'edifici existent pot gaudir d'una faana amb entrades de llum natural, i amb la nova construcci, aquestes entrades quedarien "ocultes".Necessitat de crear un joc espaial, mitjanant dobles i triples altures, collocaci d'un lluernari que fa les vegades de "vincle" entre la construcci existent i la nova proposta.Efecte "d'enretirada" d'un edifici respecte de l'altre.Configuraci de successi d'espais en alada, enriquint la percepci i l'amplitud de l'espai tridimensional, deixant "respirar" lumnicament la faana existent que connecta ambds edificis.

    Scol perimetral fa de receptacle per construcci de plantes superiors, les quals obeeixen a una disposici geomtrica manada per plecs de coberta que trobem a l'edifici existent.

    The purpose of this project is the ex-tension of an existing school, where we are building almost perfectly ori-ented north-south, which houses sev-eral classrooms on two floors, both of primary and kindergarten.

    The aim is to build new classrooms to accommodate the kindergarten pro-gram, specifically three more class-rooms, ie 1 line, and thus fluffing the existing building, specializing only in the primary. It also has conducted a study of location and construction of a gym that will serve students of pri-mary education.

    The layout and grouping of class-rooms on the ground has been based on the functionality of school age cy-cles, and responds to the need, first, to not invade the central corridor of circulation, and second, to the desire to fluff the aisle, to avoid becoming a long tunnel, dark, drab and hopeless.

    The main intention of the Pla de Po-nent is to recognize the importance of the territory, not as the passive and residual element but as an active instrument, operating in positive part of the arrangement, taking into ac-count the most significant elements of landscape of the area behind the plan structure.

    The idea of the compact city to liber-ate the field, where the boundaries are not sharp but not confused, be-cause intentionally increases the con-tact surface, to experience new urban scenarios which defines the different neighborhoods that remain integrat-ed as the unique and recognizable ele-ment of the city, where the parties do everything.

    This new cultural space in the town of Blanes, is the realization of an ambi-tious goal that all instances of cul-tural, political and social come from brewing for some time and that the city intends to provide a meeting place for the arts, music, dance, film, etc.

    The facilities of the former cinema Maryan serve as a container to the lo-cation of all the services that a fa-cility of this nature determines. Its superb location in the center of town possibility, complementarity with oth-er equipment.
