PORTFOLIO AND CV

This is the portfolio and the CV of Michael Breum. I started the company 1410 as an IT service provider in 2001 in Denmark. In the early days of 2003 we extended our services with industrial design, 3d building mod-els and 3d simulation for our clients. As the company grow we moved our focus to product design and 3d modelling and simulation. Among our clients were: The Danish Police, The Danish Defence, Aalborg and Aar-hus University, City counsels all over Denmark, The National museum, Nykobing Falster museum, Dyrup A/S, Frederikshavn Event etc. All our projects was delivered on time and within the budget target due to detailed (macro & micro) management of each project. By 2008 I had to close my company due to missing sale target of our new devel-oped of Augmented Reality software and the financial crisis. From June 2008 to present day I have had the pleasure of designing and develop-ing a number of projects. I hope by this portfolio to give you a new perspective of some of the projects, prod-ucts and ideas of through the last 10 to 15 years. I hope you'll enjoy my portfolio.

The Floating light was a design project in which the main goal was to create a flying device to provide lights for search and rescue missions on land. I designed a ”flying saucer” to give wind stability and at same time to carry lights and cameras . Powered by only 1 engine I developed a new airflow system to keep to floating light from spinning around the z-axis and at the same to be used as steering of the light. The develop-ment process took more than 1 year. The floating lights are at this point in patent process. patent pending

LessHomeLess or Home in a Wheel is a new project started and crea-ted by MB to provide a temporary home for homeless people. To give them a shelter for the night which can protect them from rain, snow, wind etc. It won't replace a real home but it will give homeless people a chance to stay warmer, dry and safe. End goal is to produce the final design/product. all "Wheel Homes" will/can/must be sponsored by you/your company/your family/your pet.... Go to http://www.facebook.com/Lesshomeless

Multi Joint/ Multi Ball was invented by MB back in 1993. Patented in 2001. The Multi Joint makes it possible to create grid structures very easy with a very high ”angle-freedom”. The design is now used as a construction element, jewellery and art print/sculpture.

REBUILDING A CASTLE

In 2006 1410 re-builts the Castle of Nykøbing Falster in 3d for the Museum ”Falsters Minde”. With a very limited budget and only sketches and paint-ings we managed to recreate this 16th. century castle

The 3d model were presented for the public in late au-gust 2006 with ren-dered pictures, vid-eos and a 3d VR model. The goal for the project was to give the visitors of the museum the possi-bility to walk around the castle

which was demol-ished in the 1760’s and the building ma-terials were given to the people of Nykø-bing city. The 2 pictures (top & bottom) repre-sents a small part of the material pro-duced for the muse-um.

3D DOCUMENTATION

In 2007/2008 it was decided to slowly tear down “Maarup Kirke” (Church of Maarup, build in the 12th. century) due to coastal eruption. At the time the coast was 12 me-

ters from the church. 1410 took upon the task to document the build-ing in 3d before the demolition. By laser measuring and photos we managed to create this old church in high details.

Top and bottom pictures showing the result of the 3d model gener-ated from meas-urement data and photos. Center picture showing aerial view of the church and the coast line.

AUGMENTED REALITY

By 2007 I decided to start the devel-opment of 1410’s Augmented Reali-ty software based on the OS ARTool. My goal was to create a state of the art 3d presen-tation software for our clients.

We managed to de-sign our software with a range of new innovative functions to be used when new ways to show 3d models was needed. Among our special functions in the AR

software was a section tool for the 3d models generat-ed on our tags. Augmented reality are now used in a wide range of appli-cations for smart phones etc. Lego A/S was one of the first compa-nies to test our soft-ware.

WHEN I SAY THAT

THIS TEXT HAS A SQUARE FORM WHO

WILL AGREE WITH ME? WHY DO I SAY THAT THE TEXT IS SQUARE, WHEN IT IS OBVISUALLY THAT

THIS TEXT IT HAS A ALMOST CIRCU-

LAR FORM ???

Well as a designer/innovator my job is to make a square circle or a circular square. I’m a designer that wants to give

the form a new form. Nothing is static and designs must be dynamic as well as

making a statement if the product should have a chance of

standing out.

1410 managed to redesign a IP camera for a client in less than 18 hours. The task was to redesign a new outdoor cover with a rain shield. 1410 provided the client with 5 sugges-tions to redesigns.

The 2 top pictures shows the original de-sign and the 2 bottom pictures are the final chosen redesign by 1410.
