Experience

I got to know the professional life as a graphic designer during my apprenticeship at Switzerland‘s most succesfull web agency namics ag. As I wasn’t completely satisfied with the amount of creativity in my everyday work, I developped a lot of projects in my freetime, where I tought myself some type design and also html coding. When I entered the school of arts in Lausanne (ÉCAL) I started up the graphic design collective STRAIGHT IN YOUR FACE with a friend of mine. I worked as an independent and on a freelance basis for clients in various commercial fields such as architecture, street wear, events and music. Right after my studies I got hired by Antistatique.net, for whom I already worked as a freelancer for 2 years. As the first and only graphic designer, I was responsible for all the web and print design and the design quality control.

Cover design inspired by old anatomic illustrations for Kice of Course from New Jersey.

A fanzine for the swiss streetwear brand Alias One. The title typeface is one of the first fonts I ever designed some years ago, and its irregular shapes fitted to the uncomfortable and sometimes bizarre mood of the film.

Based on the principle of creating my own fonts, just at the very moment I need them, I designed an-other skeleton. I’m then using fontlab’s function for making subtle automised changes to generate the whole aesthetic of a typeface.The results vary from calm textfonts to expressive and sometimes illegible display typefaces.As a regular fontlab user, one can create a new font within 5 to 10 minutes.

Small publication showing a journey through one of 10 stan-dardized buildings I virtually built up for the poster.

Views is a print-on-demand service for customized press reviews I developped for my diploma.

The user creates a collection of selected newspa-per articles in 4 simple steps: 1 keyword research 2 timeframe definition 3 selection of newspapers 4 adding catchwords to be highlighted

Views then gets generated and printed automati-cally and will be delivered at home.

Grilli Type is the small swiss foundry which distrib-utes some of my fonts. End of 2010, i designed the font catalogue for the coming year. I decided to bring it into newspaper-format as a low-cost version of printing A2 posters.
