east darling harbour competition, sydney
the superstudio competition used a real-life international competition as its basis; the east darling harbour project. we were asked to produce pragmatic and poetic proposals for the crucial waterfront project that could be as iconic as the opera house itself.

airport, sydney
sydney’s airport is in dire stress. there is no room for expansion and suburbia creeps around it. this proposal transforms the air-port into a city; an “aviopolis”. it explores the notion of merging commercialism into air-ports on a city-scale. where airports become large cities themselves. the proposal was for an international student competition held in copenhagen.

cockatoo island redevelopment, sydney
the urban islands studio at the university of sydney looked at the industrial remnant islands in syd-ney harbour. working under Supersudaca, a south american think-tank, we devised a radical scheme for a 3km tall vertical eco-city capable of handling a population increase the size of adelaide in the next 30 years, while generating enough electricity through wind turbines to sell back to the city’s grid.

the urban condenser, sydney
continuing the arguments of aviopolis, this Newtown railway station perpetuates that city rail networks are essential to the city as arterial webs of move-ments. it criticizes the mundane duplicated proto-type of sydney’s railway stations and proposes a more dynamic station that engages with the sur-rounding urban fabric rather than exist as a modern-ist solution. it and bridges King Street and Erskinev-ille road while integrating various urban functions.
