Using stock size blocks, personal fitted blocks will be produced onto card and finely tuned on calico toiles. Basic shaping and dart manipulation will be demonstrated and applied. Further construction demos will be presented if time allows. Equipment: industrial machinery available, some domestics available. Card and calico provided. Required: basic sewing skill level with an understanding of whole garment construction Price: $300. Date: April TBC Transformational Pattern Cutting Students will learn a form of 3D pattern manipulation which is origami inspired. Part garments will be patterned in calico using a stock size mannequin and completed as examples to further their pattern knowledge. Equipment: industrial machinery available, some domestics available. Card and calico provided. Required: basic sewing skill level with an understanding of whole garment construction. Some pattern knowledge an advantage but not essential. Price: $300. Glass Art Workshops Glass Bead Making BEADS WITH FLARE Two hour workshop making up to ten beads to take home. The beads will be annealed overnight and then return to clean the beads the following day. For out-of-town participants the beads can be cleaned for them and sent by courier. Ideal for a group of four people. Bookings for smaller numbers can be made. No experience required. All bookings to be made in advance. Price: $95 per person.

Glass Casting Weekend Workshop This workshop demonstrates the technique of lost wax casting, rubber mould making and glass theory. The participants have the opportunity to create a form in wax that they will embellish with thier own unique designs which will be cast in glass.

Masterclass with Dr Gerry King (AUS) “Technique Ain’t Cheap” Five Day Masterclass in kiln formed glass. Learn to manipulate sheet glass, billet, coloured stringers for dramatic effect to create landscapes in glass with international artist Gerry King from Adelaide. The cost includes tuition, materials and kiln hire.

Kiln Forming with Glass: Gravity & Colour with Claudia Borella Coinciding with the second weekend of Artist Open Studio, this workshop is suitable for beginners to intermediate level artists who wish to explore colour and the drop through process of kiln forming with Bullseye Glass. It is an opportunity for participants to ask questions, explore some reactive glass types, understand firing and annealing schedules and to touch on ways of creating your own formers using different materials suitable for repeat firing. Introduction to Fused and Slumped Glass Workshops 2016 Workshop dates: 21 February, 10 April, 15 May, 19 June, 4 September, 16 October, 20 November. Max. 8 students Special classes for private groups of 4 to 8 people can also be arranged.
Make your own coloured glass tile, two slumped bowls and glass brooches to add to your collection. Learn the basics of fusing, slumping, using coloured glass pieces, powders and frits and kiln firing. This one day workshop is intended to give you the ability, knowledge and confidence to experiment with these processes on your own.

Mosaic Art Workshops Mosaic Weekend Workshop Enjoy learning the skills to create stunning mosaics in relaxed, practical weekend workshops. No drawing skills necessary. Workshop includes tips on how to use tools correctly, the way to get a great grouting result and techniques to plan your design.
