INTRODUCTION

The PORTADRILLMINI drill is a rugged, highly portable air/water/mud

injection rotary drill, which has been designed to drill water wells (200 ft.) faster than any

other mini drill. The PORTADRILLMINI drill is the result of 10 years of practical

experience in confined and remote location water well drilling.

PORTADRILLMINI drill is a refined evolution of traditionally available

small scale drilling systems. The PORTADRILLMINI drill combines all of the

features necessary for rapid, cost effective well and borehole drilling under even the most

challenging conditions.

Our three way air/water/mud injection system with independent control valves allows

you to pump various combinations of air, water or slurry into the well shaft to keep

drilling smoothly regardless of the type of earth you are drilling through.

Our patented pull down system allows the operator to adjust pull down pressure on

the fly for optimal drilling efficiency and bit life. This combination of weights,

springs, cables and pulleys is the most versatile and responsive pull down system

available on a portable rig.

Our selection of 6 and 7 HP engines lets you choose the right combination of power

and affordability to suit your specific drilling needs with a Hatz diesel unit as our

2004 model.

PORTABILITY

The compact rugged design of the PORTADRILLMINI drill makes it your ideal

choice for well drilling projects in areas that are currently inaccessible to conventional

drilling equipment.

The PORTADRILLMINI drill is capable of operating in any 3’x 4 ’ area with

9’ 2” feet of overhead clearance. For residential customers, this means that fences, roof

lines, trees and other obstacles will no longer be a limiting factor when choosing the ideal

location for their wells.For commercial customers, this means that wells can be placed

exactly where they are needed most, even if that location happens to be right in the

middle of a factory floor!

With the PORTADRILLMINI drill wells can be drilled close to the power

supplies and plumbing systems of the structures they are intended to serve, thereby

reducing overall project costs and giving engineers the freedom to place wells where they

are needed most rather than where they “fit the best”.

For remote drilling projects, the PORTADRILLMINI drill can be easily

disassembled and transported by truck, foot, helicopter, donkey, llama or whatever else

you have available and reassembled on location with a minimal set of hand tools. The

very small footprint of the PORTADRILLMINI drill makes it ideal for mountainous

terrain since you only need a 3’x 4’ level area to set up your rig and start.

SIMPLICITY

The PORTADRILLMINI drill is designed to be the simplest small rig on the

market to operate and maintain. The rig can be easily positioned and operated by a single

user under most conditions.

Moving the machine is as easy as tilting back the main mast and rolling it into

place on its heavy duty wheel system which is designed to move smoothly in most

operating conditions.

All of the controls on the PORTADRILLMINI drill are placed so that a single

user can effectively drill a well without assistance. Anyone in good physical condition

with a basic knowledge of drilling principles can operate this machine with minimal

training.

SERVICEABILITY

Years of practical experience have taught us that despite our best efforts,

sometimes things break. As a result, the PORTADRILLMINI drill has been designed

so that all critical components can be removed for service without having to move the rig

from its drilling site. We have also made every effort to ensure that critical components

are simple enough that they can be repaired or replaced with locally available parts in

most areas. Anybody who has every tried to do ANYTHING more than 50 miles from a

major city can easily appreciate that!

The engine and transmission of the PORTADRILLMINI Drill can be easily

removed for service or replacement without moving the drilling rig itself. This critical

feature has saved us countless hours of frustration in the field and it will help you to keep

your projects running smoothly even when your engine isn’t.

The pull down weight bar is designed to accommodate up to 250 lbs. of standard

size barbell weights that can be easily found in most parts of the world.

SPECIFICATIONS

The PORTADRILLMINI Drill unit is available with your choice of the HATZ

DIESEL 7 H.P. engine or a 6hp HONDA GASOLINE powered Units. Either way, your

new PORTADRILLMINI Drill will come equipped with the following features:

Heavy Duty Wheeled Base Platform:

The PORTADRILLMINI Drill is mounted on a heavy weight steel base

platform for enhanced drilling stability, greater operator comfort and increased mobility.

The heavy base lowers the machine’s overall center of gravity to help keep it stable

during drilling operations and drill pipe change-out. The added weight also keeps the

unit firmly planted when operating under heavy pull down pressure. The added height of

the base gives the drill operator a dry platform to stand on while drilling, keeping his feet

out of the way of drilling debris and water. The base unit also features a heavy duty

wheel system which is incorporated into the rear stabilizer rail for easy portability and

positioning of the unit.

Dual Water Deflector Shields:

The PORTADRILLMINI Drill is equipped with a set of stacked water deflector

shields, which keep drilling debris and water out of critical mechanical components and

off of the drill operator. This convenient feature dramatically extends the life of your

machine while providing superior operator comfort. The upper shield (which

incorporates the drill steel guide table) is easily replaceable should the need arise.

Three Way Air/Water/Mud Injection System:

The PORTADRILLMINI Drill features a three-way input valve, which allows

you to pump any combination of air, water or slurry down the drilling shaft with

adjustable flow rates. This ability to change your input mixture as you drill is critical to

extending the life of your drill and speeding up drilling operations. This particular valve

also gives you the ability to drill using foam injection methods.

Adjustable Mechanical Pull Down System

Weight Bar Pull Down Assist Mechanism:

The PORTADRILLMINI Drill is equipped with an engine cradle mounted

weight bar assembly. This particular feature allows you to add up to 250 lbs. of

additional weight to the engine cradle thus increasing constant pull down pressure and

significantly reducing drilling time. The amount of weight hanging from the bar can be

easily adjusted according to the needs of a particular job. Quick release bar locks keep

One of the most impressive features of the

PORTADRILLMINI Drill is its patented pull-down system.

The system integrates a series of cables, pulleys, springs and a

hand crank winch to provide smooth variable downward

pressure when drilling. The cables feature in-line turnbuckle

adjusters to equalize pressure on both sides of the unit and

eliminate slack in the system. The winch mechanism can be

locked in place once the desired down pressure is achieved,

allowing the spring to continue pulling even after cranking

stops. The winch also acts as a hoisting mechanism for easy

lifting of the engine and transmission assembly.
