The festival features street vendors, clowns, a balloon artist, face paint- ing, henna tattoo artist, children’s bouncy, a pet- ting zoo, DJ music, cotton candy, popcorn, Greek favorites, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, deli- cious foods, drinks, and more! Chamber of Commerce Honors Supervisor Kaiman The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Installation Dinner on Thursday October 10, at 7 pm at Ayhan’s Fish Kebab. The new co-presidents, officers and board of directors for 2013 - 2014 will take the oath of office. The Chamber will also present Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman with a Certificate of Appreciation for all the support he has given to the Chamber and to the community of Port Washington. A Pharmaceutical Take Back Event, October 5, 10 am - 1 pm Join your community and clean out your medicine cabinet of any prescription or over-the counter drugs that may be expired, unused or unwanted. Play Troupe Invites the Community to “Sing For Cecilia” Port Washington Play Troupe will host “Songs for Cecilia,” an informal church fundraiser series in the St. Cecilia Room at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 7:30 - 9:30 pm on Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4 (Wednesday evenings). Anyone from the community is welcome to come on stage and sing a song from the Great American Songbook (Broadway musicals, Hollywood film songs, 20th century classics), accompanied on piano by board member David Barnett. Voluntary donations will be collected to re-carpet the St. Cecilia Room for the church. Participants may bring their own sheet music or choose from provided musical theater songbooks. There will be time for approximately 20 singers to perform, and the evening will conclude with a group sing- along of a well-known classic (printed lyrics to be provided).
