Mundra Port provides a convenient internationaltrade gateway to Europe, Africa, America and theMiddle East
Mundra has a deep draft (12.5 Meters 17 Meters)which enables large vessels to dock alongside its berth
It also has a large land area available for development, part of which is now the Mundra SEZ which proposesto attract port-led industrial development.

Contd
Indian Ports Singapore Ports
It is Limited and cargoes are handled by
conventional means
It is very high and sophisticated with
infusion of latest technology in Handling
Cargo
Cargoes are handled mostly forconsumption and originating. Hence
heavily dependent on internal
connectivity
Containers handled are mostlytransshipment containers and
therefore do not leave the terminal
Containers arriving at Ports in India have
to wait at the gate for considerable time
for transaction of formalities &
congestion.
It is a fully automated and paperless
process and
is linked electronically to the Ports
computerized system
There are many human interfaces and
manual exchange of documents.
There are no human interfaces and no
paper transaction.
Indian Ports play both commercial and
regulatory roles.
Singapore Ports and Terminals operate
purely on commercial basis
