The Royal Ontario Museum is such
a gem! We are so lucky here in
Toronto to have one of North
America’s great museums. And
while most of us likely associate the
ROM with archaeology, art
and natural science, it turns
out there is so much more to dis-
cover. On now and until January 25th is Izzy Camilleri’s wonderful fashion
exhibition featuring
beautiful and innovative fashion
for people who use wheelchairs.
ashion Follows Form: Designs for Sitting dis-plays pieces from Izzy’s IZ Adaptive line and speaks
to her true craftsmanship and vi-sion as a designer.
Izzi Camilleri is a world-re-nowned Canadian designer based in Toronto. Izzy began her career in the 1980’s in the world of high fashion, having created memorable and highly success-ful runway collections. Subse-quently choosing to transition to the film and television industry Izzy dressed an impressive list of A-list celebrities including Jen-nifer Lopez, Mark Wahlberg, Ni-cole Kidman, Mila Kunis, and An-gelina Jolie.
If you’ve seen The Devil Wears Prada you are sure to recognize the iconic red fur coat worn by Meryl Streep. I was de-lighted to find out that it was de-signed by none other than our own Izzy Camilleri! This coat can currently be found at the ROM as part of Izzy’s collection.
Her style is refined and sophis-ticated, making use of leathers and furs and combining materials for a high end yet functional and affordable look. More impres-sively though is the fact that Izzy is a problem solver. Her designs fill in important yet often over-looked niches. IZ Adaptive is an ingeniously well thought out col-lection which not only looks great but is designed specifically for the seated body.

Rather than design for an “I” shape this collection examined the needs of the “L” shaped body. If you stop to think about your own experience with clothes I’m sure you can think of a few instances when you sat down and the hem was no longer long enough, or the fabric of your dress or trench coat all of a sudden was too bulky and bunched up. And I’m sure you’ve experience the discomfort of your jeans sliding down as you sit down.
If you have the ability to quickly stand up and adjust your clothing, pull up your pants etc. these prob-lems are nothing more than small nuisances. But if you require as-sistance to stand up and rely on others for help, Izzy’s collection offers a new sense of indepen-dence and freedom! I was thor-oughly impressed with the amount of thought put into each garment, and shocked that this is something that hasn’t been done before.
Everyone should be able to feel beautiful - be it at work, on the weekend, or on their wedding day. Feeling beautiful shouldn’t be limited to any shape - seated or standing. I highly encourage you to check out the ROM and view this one-of-a-kind exhibit.

POPTALK
CANADA’S HIT POP DUO TALK NEW MUSIC, GIVING BACK AND
THEIR LIVES BEHIND THE BLING
Their philosophy is simple.
‘Wish it, dream it, don’t let
anything stop you from doing it.’
And Catina and Angela Duscio,
the Toronto based dancing-singing sister act known as HighDiamond
follow this logic to the T.
he duo has been recognized for cre-ating music that combines modern dance beats, club raves and soulful ballads, each of which stand on their own as individual statements.
Simply put, they’re Fabulous – which is aptly the name of their new
single, a catchy pop tune to be dropped Jan. 13th in advance of their album.
Looking back at the year and a half since High-Diamond released their debut single Broken and the girls have generated impressive hype throughout the Canadian and international mu-sic scenes. Broken was not only added to the playlists of MTV, MuchMusic and JuiceBox – in the first month of its release it cracked the top 100 on Canadian CHR radio charts, while their dance hit Fairytale became a favourite on radio stations and dance clubs around the world.
The duo has since gone on to perform before thousands of fans, or Diamonds as they are called, at Youth Day in Toronto and were fea-tured performers at the TeenFavz Awards.
“Performing for our audience or fans, we’re going to be energized and excited and pumped up and we just want everybody else who’s watching us to feel the exact same way as we do,” says Angela.
Growing up in a musical family, Catina, 23, and Angela, 20, natives of Kitchener, Ontario, were first recognized at a young age for their singing and dance abilities at competitions across North America.
“I remember writing my first song when I was about 8-years-old and my sister and I still sing it once in a while for fun,” says Catina.
Always being surrounded by music & entertain-ers has enriched Cat and Ang to the point that they could never imagine not performing and sharing their love for music.
T
“Performing is our passion! We live for it.’ It wasn’t long before they were cast in
several music videos and TV shows - you might recognize them from the Monster High Fright Song music video to promote the fashion doll franchise by Mattel. Both sisters have lead roles in the video: Angela as Hero Zombie Girl and Catina as Ghost Girl.
“The makeup the hair - all of it has been awesome,” says Angela of her filming experience.
The sister act plans to perform in a USO tour called Collaborating with
Courage to encourage and support military personnel living away from their families.
The vision for this tour came while recording their upcoming album in Miami - Cat and Ang found themselves crossing paths with personnel stationed in the area and were exposed to stories of soldiers who often felt neglected by their country.
The girls are also actively involved in anti-bullying campaigns, regularly hosting web chats to speak to young fans locally and internationally about self-esteem and staying true to themselves.
“We have been very blessed and think it’s important for people to give back to their community in any way they can,” says Angela. HighDiamond’s new single & video
Fabulous will be distributed through AMG and Bungalo/Universal Music Group Distribution on January 13th, with their accompanying album to be released in late spring 2015.

Jennifer Lopez Talks Being a Love Addict -- Is She Being Dramatic?
Ashlee
Simpson and Evan Ross have filed legal paperwork to change their last names. Ashlee, who is Jessica Simpson’s younger sister wed Evan, the son of superstar Diana Ross, in August and took on her new husband’s legal last name of Naess. However, the couple is now seeking to amend its surname to Ross-Naess, according to TMZ. The motion will be addressed in court at the end of this month, but it is unclear why Simpson and Ross, who are reportedly expecting their first child together, want to change their surnames. RUSSELL BRAND has his sights set on romancing newswoman TAMRON HALL after discovering she
has a crush on him.Brand, who was formerly married to KATY PERRY,
made no secret of the fact he’s attracted to the Today show regular and now that he knows the feeling is mutual he’s keen to romance her this year. He recently told Access Hollywood, “She’s beautiful... I met her and my mate Nicholas said,
‘That woman fancies you’, and I thought, ‘Does she?’ I like her. She’s pretty.” (KL//KG)
NICK JONAS wants to shed his 'heartthrob' status so fans will focus
on his music.
The former Jonas Brothers singer revealed that despite being "flattered"
by attention for his looks, he wants his music to take "centre stage" so he has vowed to stop posing topless
He tells Kode magazine, "I'm not sure if I'm the only (heart-
throb), but it is definitely flattering to get this kind of attention... Moving forward, I think I'm going to keep my shirt on for a little while and let my music take centre stage." (CMR/WNWC/ZN)

Until next time... Shine like Platinum! Vanessa
Wow! This is a big admission out of Jennifer Lopez who usually is
so willing to chalk up her romantic mishaps as “that’s what people in love do...at the end of the day.”
PopSugar reported “Jennifer Lopez, 45, covers the January issue of Self Magazine. In the interview, she opens up about love, life, and why it’s “no big deal” for women to date younger men, as she’s one of several famous women who have hit it off with younger guys.
On her high-profile relationships: ‘When you have that much pain, you have to anesthetize yourself in some ways. People do different things. Some go out and party and sleep around, but that’s just not my way. I found the comfort in someone else. That’s called being a love addict. When I face myself, I go, You have a fear of really being on your own. So you know what? That’s what we’re gonna do right now. But it took me years to get there. So first it was learning to love myself. And then it was about facing my fears.’”
I definitely agree that Jennifer comes across at times as a love addict. Sure, there are plenty of men who she dates and it’s just that -- a date.
It’s when she does fall that we all watch
her fall so hard and very fast for the men in her life. One minute she’s single, the next she’s spending every minute with her new guy. I can’t necessarily say that she’s being dramatic on this one.
But it isn’t the dates that she goes on that make her the love addict. Truly, it’s the hot and heavy relationships that move at lightning speed.
In my blog, I frequently tell the newly single woman to start dating as soon as possible after a break-up. No sense in being miserable if there are eligible men who want to date.
Some could argue that this advice fosters love addicts. In my mind, though, it keeps women from pining over men who don’t want them or failed relationships in general.
Remember, the love addict is someone who jumps from one relationship to the next -- heart, body, mind, all of it! Going out on dates that you end first and don’t result in spilling your life story and sleeping with a man does not make you a love addict.
Great for JLo that she’s coming to terms with who she is, but don’t mistake this for you if you’re a happily dating single woman!

She says, “I’ve reached out to Kim to do a song together some
years ago when she was, I guess, dating the producer
Scott Storch; my ex-husband kind of tried to
make that happen.
“I can’t really tell you why it didn’t happen at the time, but it’s
really not about money... At this point,
it would be about doing the right song
and it making sense for both of us to do it.”

JENNIFER ANISTON
has lashed out at constant speculation suggesting she chose her career over motherhood, insisting the unfounded reports are “rude, insulting and ignorant”. The former Friends star, 45, tells Allure
magazine, “I don’t like (the pressure) that people put on me, on women - that you’ve failed yourself as a female because you haven’t procreated. “I don’t think it’s fair. You may not have a child
come out of your vagina, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t mothering - dogs, friends, friends’ children. “This continually is said about me: that I was
so career-driven and focused on myself that I don’t want to be a mother, and how selfish that is. “I have a lot of friends who decided not to
have children, who can’t have children, or are trying but are having a difficult time. There’s all sorts of reasons why children aren’t in people’s lives, and no one has the right to assume. “It’s quite rude, insulting and ignorant.” Aniston is currently engaged to wed actor
Justin Theroux. (MT/ALL/TD)
FAITH EVANS is open to recording a song with her one-time rival LIL KIM, despite their long-standing feud.
The Love Like This hitmaker and Kim had a falling out after Evans discovered
her late husband, rapper The
Notorious B.I.G., was having an affair with Kim,
but now she insists she has put the past
behind her and would be willing to work with her
man’s mistress.
MADONNA has recently posted a message on
Instagram to dismiss rumours of a feud with Lady Gaga amid speculation she took a swipe at her pop rival in the lyrics of a leaked track. The track called Two
Steps Behind is rumoured to be a sly jab at Lady Gaga. It features lyrics such as: “You’re a copycat, get back/I’m always on your mind” and fans have speculated the star is taking aim at Gaga over her track Born This Way, which prompted comparisons with Madonna’s 1989 hit Express Yourself. However, Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary took to Twitter to silence the
rumours, writing, “That song is NOT about Gaga or anyone in particular. The song is an unfinished demo she had no intention of finishing or releasing along with many others. She has NO ill will towards Gaga. It’s nonsense. She was listening to Gaga’s Tony Bennett duet album last week and appreciating it.” Madonna herself later went on Instagram to clear the air, explaining, “There are those who want to shut me up but they cannot! We still live in
a world that discriminates against women. Their (sic) are people that are so hateful. They want to create feuds between strong women that do not exist! I do not wish ill will towards any other female artist and I never have! “The world is big enough for all of us! I will fight for my rights as an artist, a
human and a woman till the end of my days! Because I am a #rebelheart and I walk in the footsteps of giants and I will not apologise or defend my unpublished, unfinished, stolen work. “If you don’t like who I am or what I have to say then why are you reading this?
#unapologeticb**ch.” Rebel Heart is slated for release this March. (TD/WNWCGC&WNWCBB/LR)
“I’m a little terrified... Here’s the thing, if you’re working on the Warner Bros. lot, if there’s sirens, come (and) save me... and if you smell something I wasn’t smoking it!”
~ Ashton Kutcher plays coy when asked if Charlie Sheen will be returning to Two and a Half Men for the series finale this year. (KL/WNVELL/ZN)

...THIS WINTER
BEAT THE FLU!
(nc) The Canadian
Health Food
Association
(CHFA) has simple
suggestions to
minimize all the
aches and pains
and get you back
to feeling healthy
sooner.
Taking a zinc supplement is a great way to speed up recov-ery from a cold. This essential nutrient has been shown to prevent rhinovirus (the most common cause of a cold) from reproducing, stopping the affliction in its tracks. For best results, and even to help prevent catching a cold at all, try including a zinc supple-ment as part of your regular regime.
VITAMIN CThis nutrient, readily available in many foods, helps to pre-vent immune deficiencies so getting enough throughout the year is an effective preventative measure. Consuming plenty of vitamin C-rich foods like bell peppers, dark leafy greens and citrus fruits is an important way to get your daily recommended dose. Higher concentrations of vitamin C, found in natural sup-plements, can also help to mini-mize the duration of a cold that has already afflicted you.
This helpful herb comes in many forms, including teas, juices, tinc-tures, and a wide variety of solid tablets. Time is of the essence however. It is important to begin using echinacea as soon as cold or flu symptoms appear.
Additional tips about natural health are available online at chfa.ca. Speak to your health care provider about products that are right for you.
