Theninthe1960s,allthosebabiesweregrowingup.Nowtheywereteenagers.

Itwasamodernage.TheycalledittheJetAge.KennedywasPresident.Young
peoplelikednewthings,andnewmusic.Theyliked“mod.”
TeenagersoYenliketobedifferentfromtheirparents,astheygrowup.
The1960steenshadtheirownculture.Someboysgrewtheirhairlonger.Theylovedpopmusic.
EveryoneforgotaboutElviswhentheBeatlesappearedonTVontheEdSullivanshowintheU.S.in1964.
TheBeatlesbecamesopopularsoquickly,thepresscalledtheirarrivalintheU.S.
the“Bri8shInvasion.”
Teenslovedtheblues‐based,guitar‐ledsoundoftheBeatlesandotherBri8shgroups.Theyboughtalltheirrecords.Theyrequestedthesongson
theradio.Theywenttotheirconcerts.
Otherperformerswerepopular,too.DustySpringfieldhadbighits,
including“IOnlyWanttoBeWithYou”in1963.
TheHollieshadlotsofhits,including“BusStop”in1966.
