What are the voting habits of Millennials?

During the 2010 midterm election, 49.6% of the 18-29 year old population was registered to vote in Florida; of this percentage, 23.7% voted (civicyouth.org).

Two years later in the presidential elections, 55.8% of the 18-29 year old population was registered to vote and 45.8% voted (civicyouth.org).

Millennials are more inclined to vote in the presidential election than in the midterm elections.

The Plan: Meet [IN]FORMED

[IN]FORMED’s Features

Register to Vote In order for a student to be able to be involved in the elections, s/he must be registered to vote. In this section, people

will be able to take the first step in choosing to become politically involved by deciding to register as a voter. Register for Absentee Ballots Considering the research that many students do not vote because they come from other locations and are unable to

make it to the polls, the students will be able to register to receive their voter’s registration by mail. Learn about Candidates The information about the candidates will simply present an opportunity for the student to learn the facts in a non-

bias manner. There are mostly students who would prefer no political jargon, easy-to-understand information. Engage Students will be able to see what other students at their college are thinking on amendments or politicians. Also, they

will be able to see what topics are most talked about or not understood. They will be able to interact with others through polls and social media.

Connect Reaching out to the politicians that are involved and allowing them to post individual videos or messages would allow

for politicians to connect with students. Students also would be connected with other political organizations that are interested in the young adult population and voting.
