Polical Science Our Program Our classes focus on crical engagement with current polical pracces globally and in the U.S. The Polical Science major will give you the skills you need to pursue a career in polical organizing, public policy, government, or law. Learn how to save the world… one step at a me. As part of their degree requirements, students pursue one or more of the following hands-on learning opportunies: they can parcipate in Model United Naons, Moot Court, and local internships with government and non-profit organizaons. Our department offers three disncve concentraons within the major. Students can choose to concentrate in one of these areas or can complete a major without a concentraon. Law and Policy Whether you want to go to law school, work for a government agency, or advocate for change with an NGO, this concentraon will help you develop the knowledge of the legal and policymaking process that you need to work effecvely at the grass-roots right up to Congress. Courses in this area include: Public Policy Process Polics of Criminal Jusce U.S. Naonal Polics or Race, Gender, and U.S. Law U.S. Constuonal Law Legal Research Polics of Environment and Sustainability Environmental concerns are not just technical problems, they’re key social and polical challenges. This concentraon explores links between environmental issues, social jusce, individual freedom, and strategies for change. Courses in this area include: Environmental Polics Polical Ecology Water Polics Polics of Sustainability Technology & Development Global Polics Polics, economics, and culture are increasingly global.
