Qualification Bachelors degree is required;

Experience Knowledge of different provinces, in particular Punjab andKashmir, would be useful. Awareness/experience of interactingwith political parties and civil society groups desirable.

Description To provide political analysis and understanding andstrengthen BHC contact network, in support of three mainUK-Pakistan policy areas: internal Pakistan, Counter-Terrorism and India-Pakistan.

This will include:

Strengthen existing network of BHC contacts inPakistan Government, Civil Society and Media

constituencies Increase depth and breadth of understanding of HMG

policy in Pakistan through effective analysis andreporting of internal issues and regional policy situation

Inform effective BHC engagement on human rights, CT,Indo-Pak and wider bilateral issues through advice onrelationships and key influencers within and outside ofthe Pakistani establishment

Skills Experience of and strong skills relating to project

management, including stakeholder and relationship

management;

Experience of political influencing

An excellent command of written and spoken English &

Urdu;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

Strong self-organising skills;

The ability to think creatively to solve problems, often

under pressure;

Willingness to work to frequent and tight deadlines

while maintaining a high standard of work;

Flexibility and sense of humour required to work

positively in a diverse team;
