Thanedar is a businessman and entrepreneur that was born in Belgaum, India. He went on to earn a
bachelorsdegree in Chemistry and then a masters degree at the University of Bombay. Thanedar owned multiple successful pharmaceutical businesses throughout the
2000’s before selling his company in 2015.

Bill Schuette
Schuette is Michigan’s 53rd Attorney General. Former Congressman from Michigan’s 10th District from 1984-1991. Schuette then served as Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture, later in Michigan’s State Senate, and in 2003 he was elected judge on the Michigan Fourth District Court of Appeals before being elected Attorney General in 2010.

Brian Calley
Called served two terms on the Ionia County Board of Commissioners, and then served in the House of Representatives from 2006-2011. Calley was chosen by Governor Rick Snyder to be Michigan’s 63rd Lieutenant Governor; the youngest Lieutenant Governor in the nation at the time. Calley holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University.

Patrick Colbeck
Colbeck was elected to the Michigan Senate in 2011, and won re-election in 2015. A University of Michigan graduate with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Colbeck went on to work for Boeing and start multiple businesses.

Jim Hines
Medical doctor who has delivered thousands of babies over the last 38 years. Dr. Hines ran two mission hospitals and 20 Urgent Care facilities for four years in the Central African Republic as a missionary medical doctor. Hines is also a former small business owner and owner of a medical practice.

Dana Nessel
Nessel is the Michigan Democratic Party’s nominated candidate for Attorney General. Formerly, Nessel was an assistant prosecutor for Wayne County, and currently owns a law firm in Detroit. Nessel led the fight to overturn Michigan’s constitutional ban on gay marriage.

Tom Leonard
Leonard was first elected State Representative in 2013 and is serving him final term in Michigan’s House of Representatives as the Speaker of the House. Prior to serving in the House, Leonard served in the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office and then assistant attorney general for the State of Michigan, working under former Attorney General Mike Cox.

Tonya Schuitmaker
Schuitmaker was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2004, serving for three terms. Schuitmaker was then elected to the Michigan Senate in 2011 and has served as the President Pro Tempore for the duration of her term in office. Schuitmaker holds a J.D. from the Detroit College of Law, and was a partner in her family’s law firm.

Jocelyn Benson
Benson is the CEO of the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE) and the former Dean of Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. Benson accepted the Michigan Democratic Party’s nomination for Secretary of State in February 2018. Benson holds a J.D. from Harvard University Law School and previously worked for the Southern Poverty Law Center as an investigative journalist.
