I want to extend a heartfelt 'thank you' to all of our PCS families. You make this a special place to learn and grow for all of our students, and this has been a year of exceptional growth for all of us! We are ending the year with a few days with some extra fun going on! Our students have earned a school-wide reward of a hat day, and we will be celebrating that on Monday. I am looking forward to the creative hats that both staff and students will be wearing. Tuesday is Field Day. We have lot of activities going on for each grade level, and will be outside pretty much all day. Sunscreen, bug repellent, and water are pretty critical pieces of equipment for the day. We are also asking students to either wear PCS apparel or blue to celebrate school spirit! Wednesday is our 6th grade breakfast and Celebration, and parents are invited to take their children home with them at the end of the awards time. It should be a great morning celebrating the years with our 6th graders in a slightly formal fashion! Thank you again for a wonderful year, and hope everyone has a fun summer! ____________________________________________________________ A HUGE Thank You to all who have Volunteered at Poland Community School for the 2018/2019 School Year. PCS Volunteers logged over 784 hours so far and with Field Trips and Field Day still to come, the total hours will probably exceed 800!!! Wow, our Staff and Students are so fortunate to have so much help. Thank you for helping us have such a successful year. 1 June 17 - Grade 3 Field Trip to Poland Spring June 18 - Field Day PTA Meeting @ 6:30 Ricker Library June 19 - Last Student Day Sixth Grade Promotion Breakfast @ 8:15 Awards from 9:00 - 9:45am Students dismissed @ 12:15 June 21 - PCS PTA Night at the Sea Dogs! All medications need to be picked up by an Adult by June 18th or they will be discarded. Due to Maine State Law the exception to this rule are Epi– Pens and Inhalers, which I will send home on the last day. Anything left in my cabinet on

the last day of school will be discarded. Thank you to all parent who are following our medication policy by bringing medications into the nurse’s office. I know how this can be very inconvenient but vital for all children’s safety. We appreciate your compliance with this.

Note to all parents of Pre K children going into Kindergarten .

Please make sure to send in their updated immunizations as soon as possible. K students can not start on the first day of school if we have not received their 5 yr old immunizations. Reminder to all parents If your child has exemptions for immunizations, you must sign a form every year to be compliant. Please send your forms ASAP. Children with no exemptions forms signed will not be allowed to come the first day of school.

Have a great summer! Don’t forget to use sunblock! Mrs. Louise T. Robinson LPN
