Teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions. We saw them at the hallway and corridors. We greet them and they greet us back. These are the usual things that we do when we meet a teacher.

A teacher is someone who is older, patient and wise, who understood you when you are young and searching for knowledge, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you to make your way through life. There are five types of a teacher. There are friendly, funny, ideal, lenient and strict ones. Friendly teachers act like a friend for their students. They combine both the guidance of a teacher and the understanding of a friend. They aspire for an understanding teacher and they act like their friend, philosopher and guide. However, funny teachers are like God-sent to the students. They are teachers who always want to see their students smile and make learning a pleasurable experience. They are not clumsy, as most people think them to be. Rather, they are witty and bring in humor in the most subtle form. Ideal teachers are the ones who gained respect from the heart of the students. They act as a guide to the students, while not pushing them too much. They motivate them and boost their morale and try to encourage the students and refrain from criticizing them. Lenient teachers are easygoing and who take things as they come. They are not overly finicky about things, such as doing homework on time or not sitting quietly in the class. They are teachers who realize very well that being strict with a child can only make him withdrawn. The last type but not the least is the strict teacher. Strict teachers are very tough on students. They always insist on adhering to the deadlines and they dislike any mistakes or carelessness on the part of the students. Students have to be extra cautious under this teacher. They are like disciplinarians who keep their students on their toes.

Ms. Carmina is a very strict teacher. She was defined by her students who terrorize them because of her strict aura and horrible looks. She wanted that her students to pass their assignments on time and have their quizzes every meeting. She will enter and leave the classroom without a smile. This was the first year of the students with Ms. Carmina. On their third year, everything changed, the terrorizing and frowning changed into a friendly atmosphere and the strict aura of Ms. Carmina was gone. She treated her students as her friends and she is closer to them. These students are on their fourth year and they will leave the portals of the university and Ms. Carmina was quite sad. She explained all the reasons why she was so strict every time the students will enter in their first year. She was strict because she wanted them to be the best on their field and prepare them on the real world that they choose. Teaching is defined as a noble profession and its a passion. Teachers serve as the guiding force in a students life. They are responsible for molding a students personality and shaping their mental orientation. Teachers deeply impact their lives and direct the course of their future. One cannot deny the influence of teachers in ones life. They are their constant companions, until they grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on their own.A good teacher becomes a role model for students. Students tend to follow their teacher in almost every way. Students tend to get affected by the teachers affection as well as love for them. So the teacher should have the professional competence as well as good moral background in order to impart these values to students.

Everything starts with teachers and the mentality they possess to drive students to new levels. Teachers make the lifeboat because they are the first to interrupt the field of unknown and transform thoughts into reality by learning and passing it on to the body.

Ms. Carmina can be considered as strict but at the same time she can be friendly, ideal and lenient. There are many types of teachers but they have different styles and techniques on how to impart their wisdom and knowledge towards their students. The best part is not how they teach us but how much we learned and how we apply it in our lives.I Am A Teacher - John W. Schlatter

I am a teacher.

I was born the first moment that a question leaped from the mouth of a child.I have been many people in many places.

The names of those who have practiced my profession ring like a hall of fame for humanity Booker T. Washington, Buddha, Confucius, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Leo Buscaglia, Moses and Jesus.

I am also those whose names and faces have been long forgotten but those whose lessons and character will always be remembered in the accomplishments of their students.

I have wept for joy at the weddings of former students, laughed with glee at the birth of their children and stood with head bowed in grief and confusion by graves dug too soon for bodies too young.

Throughout the course of a day I have been called upon to be an actor, friend, nurse and doctor, coach, finder of lost articles, money lender, taxi driver, psychologist, substitute parent, salesman, politician and a keeper of faith.

Despite the maps, charts, formulas, verbs, stories and books, I have really nothing to teach, for my students really have only themselves to learn, and I know it takes the whole world to tell you who you are.

I am a paradox. I speak loudest when I listen the most. My greatest gifts are in what I am willing to appreciatively receive from my students.

Material wealth is not one of my goals, but I am a full-time treasure seeker in my quest for new opportunities for my students to use their talents and in my constant search for those talents that sometimes lie buried in self-defeat.

I am the most fortunate of all who labor.

A doctor is allowed to usher life into the world in one magic moment. I am allowed to see that life is reborn each day with new questions, ideas and friendships.

An architect knows that if she builds with care, his structure may stand for centuries. A teacher knows that if he builds with love and truth, what he builds will last forever.

I am a warrior, daily doing battle against peer pressure, negativity, fear, conformity, prejudice, ignorance and apathy; but I have great allies. Intelligence, Curiosity, Parental Support, Individuality, Creativity, Faith, Love and Laughter all rush to my banner with indomitable support.

And so I have a past that is rich in memories. I have a present that is challenging, adventurous and fun because I am allowed to spend my days with the future.

I am a teacher and I thank God for it every day.
