High quality windsurfing masts are mainly manufactured in Italy : this is where all our masts are produced including the C60. There are different companies
producing this part of the equipment. Most of the masts might look the same, but often produced by different manufactures with different machinery, materials, and
technology. The mast is a very important accessory for our rig. It’s the back bone of your windsurfing sail. It’s where the development starts.
Once you have defined and developed a preferred mast curve and material characteristics, the sail designer starts cutting the sail on that mast. Just like having
a suit tailor made.

3 new carbon qualities of masts.
The 2 higher carbon grade masts have an orange protective finish on the lower mast section. This coating will not only protect the mast better from abrasion, and distinguish the masts as
true Point-7 product.
By having the mast production based in Italy where Point-7 is situated, it’s possible to have a continuous development into new products and ensure that the quality of all finished products
that leaves the factory is second to none. Further guaranteeing the quality of the materials being used in production are up to the specifications needed for making a durable performance
product.
Point-7 masts are being manufactured using a Prepreg-Autoclave process which creates an extremely homogenous carbon/resin mix under high pressure. Using a newly patented
procedure which allows the resin to be distributed in equal quantities around the mast walls, the mast is guaranteed to have an equal curve around all its diameter, and thus more uniform in
comparison to former production procedures. The resin is reduced to an absolute minimum for unprecedented durability
By adding an extra layer of carbon; the mast has a higher reflex especially in the top section, resulting in a lighter feel of the sails and giving extra performance. Further to insure the mast
durability all masts have has glass reinforcements.
Each mast is quality tested before leaving the factory.
All SDM masts include a third layer of carbon for extra response. High testing and development is carried out to guarantee high performance on freeride and slalom sails.

The best possible performance for your sail. Great pumping response, acceleration, light feel and
absorption of the hardest conditions. For optimal comfort and control 100% carbon content
and produced to the exact Point-7 standards for bend-curve and hardness. The high carbon content of the C-100 will guarantee the best possible performance
from your sail. The C-100 offers the fastest reflex and responsiveness of any of our masts thus also
improving the performance of your rig.
A very price incentive mast that can be usedwith all our sails. The C60 offers good
performance and enjoyment from any sail used with it A 60% carbon content and produced to
the exact Point-7 standards for bend-curve and hardness. The C60 is made in Italy to guarantee
optimal quality and performance for its class. Using the same high carbon quality, as on the
other more expensive masts, the responsiveness is
kept to a maximum. The C60 mast is available in both SDM and RDM
Construction & performance of the standard diameter mast: The sdm C80+ is based on the C100+ and is
benefitting from the same construction utilizing a third layer of carbon in the top section of the mast for faster
response. Using the same high performance construction ensures this mast superior performance in comparison with others in its class. Advantages gained
from a higher glass content, is that the mast is better protected against breakage and will over time outlast
other masts. The best compromise between performance and durability.
Construction & performance of the SuperRDM: The base fits a standard rdm extension, and a normal boom adaptor for rdm. From a third up of the base, to the very top, the outer diameter
is narrower than a normal rdm. The Srdm having a smaller diameter delivers a softer feel whilst sailing. This allows the rig to be more comfortable in stronger winds and hard core situations.
Having a mast with a reduced outer diameter, the wall thickness of the mast is also thicker. This is made by inserting extra layers of carbon. Normally a softer mast looses a bit of planning
power but due to the high carbon content, this mast offers a great reflex and therefore gains the power back. This higher reflex compared to a standard rdm mast is making the sails feel
very light whilst sailing and increases the wind range to the sails used with the Srdm.

Construction & performance of the C80+ reduced diameter
mast: The base fits a rdm extension, and a normal
boom adaptor for rdm is used. Its outer diameter follows that
of a regular rdm mast. Benefitting from the same construction base as the
C100+ Srdm, the mast maintains optimal performance and
responsiveness. A real hard core mast for wave sailing.

•BICO: A new choice to the classical RDM mast. The bi-conical BICO line, convey extreme
durability, direct reflex and stability.
Having 2 extra reinforced points where the diameter changes, will make the mast challenge shore breaks and big swell’s. The middle section being of a bigger diameter then the rdm
masts, will give extra stability as a SDM mast.
460 | 490The middle section is closer to a sdm
diameter. Combining the strength of RDM masts and the reflex of SDM masts. To be
used in Slalom No Cam and Free Ride sails . The top and bottom sections of the mast are
close to the RDM diameter allowing for a stronger, whilst having in the centre section a
standard diameter which is allowing the sail to react faster and better stability. A optimal choice against normal rdm mast in these
length.
370 | 400 | 430 The middle section of these sizes
are slightly bigger then a normal rdm mast, but still closer to a rdm then a SDM diameter. This could
be the mast choice for heavier sailors who would want extra direct
power and reflex on the wave sails, and for extrra stability on freeride
and slalom no cam sails.
The widening of the mast allows
insertions of extra material in proportion to it’s
diameter.
This reinforces a typical weak
mast point.
Rdm diameter base:
RDM extention needed.
This section has a slightly wider diameter then an rdm
mast.
This assures a total stability of the mast while riding waves
and during hard landing jumps. On freeride and slalom sails
with no cams, it donates a direct acceleratin and stability
in stronger winds.
More power in light wind against any rdm mast.
DT+: The Direct Ferule system is integrated on the B.I.C.O.
The wider section at this point, allows insertions of
extra material in proportion to
it’s diameter.
This reinforces are solutions to
shore breaks resistant, and
big wipe outs.
The rdm diameter allows
an easier insertion of the
mast in the sail.
The C80+ and C100+ masts has an outer protective layer made of Polyamide orange tinted. This extra layer aids to protect the masts against wear from camber and boom abrasion. Along with better absorbing shocks from any direct impacts to the mast .
By adding an extra layer of carbon; the masts gains a higher reflex, especially in the top section, resulting in a lighter feel of the sails and giving extra performance. Further to insure mast durability, all masts have glass reinforcements.
The SRDM and Bico masts are being made without a ferrule brace. But by using the DT+ system; meaning direct transmission. The 2
mast parts are connected, using a new integrated structural system.
Each mast is quality tested before leaving the production facilities and will be delivered
in a protective hard shell tube made in PE plastic.
The tube is only included with the C80+ and C100+ mast grades
What is the difference between an rdm and srdm mast? The Srdm stands for Super Reduced diameter mast. The mast has the same diameter as the rdm till the middle of the base section and then starts reducing. A normal rdm extension is needed for rigging. The Srdm having a smaller diameter gives a softer feel whilst sailing. This allows the mast to be more comfortable in stronger winds and hard core situations. Being smaller in diameter, the thickness of the mast walls are also thicker as the same amount of material is being used to produce the mast as on sdm mast (Standard diameter mast). Normally a softer mast looses a bit of power for planning, but due to the high carbon content of the C100+ srdm, the mast processes a very reactive reflex and therefore gains the power back. This high reflex compared to the rdm masts is making the sail feel very light while sailing. In other words, gives a wider wind range to the sail it is being used in. When to choose a 80% against a 100% mast? A 80% mast is the best compromise mast in our range. The C80+ mast can be used in all sails and offers high performance, prolonged durability at a reasonable price level. Choosing a 100% mast is the no compromise option for racers or wave riders taking their gear into the extreme, and those wanting to have. A 100% mast will allow for your sail to perform better, feel lighter and be faster, ensuring the outmost performance from the gear, but all at the expense of having a more fragile mast in comparison to a 80%.
When to choose 60% against a 80% mast? The 60% mast is advised to be used with free-ride or wave sails. The 60% mast is a inexpensive alternative for reasonable reflex mast and good durability. The mast will perform best in sails which require little tension and not so high performance orientated. Therefore on free race and slalom sails a 80% mast would be advised to permit for a better performing rig.
Can I rig my Point-7 sails with an rdm mast? All Point-7 no cam sails, can be rigged using either rdm, super rdm or sdm masts. The P7 no cam profile system warrants the same performance of the sails no matter which diameter mast is being used. Can I rig my Point-7 sails with the sdm mast? Yes, all sails! Will my mast fit my sail? All masts fit Point-7 sails. 100% efficiency is only obtained by using Point-7 masts. Is it a problem to use long extensions?
As long as 12 cm extension remains in the mast base, it’s no problem. Even 46cm extensions can be used in their max positioning.
Which mast would make windsurfing more enjoyable for lighter / smaller windsurfers?
Lightweight equipment can aid to make windsurfing more enjoyable for smaller persons.
The srdm mast has a mast weight equal to an rdm mast. The advantage of the srdm is whilst
sailing the high carbon content is giving a more responsive reflex which will allow the sail to feel much lighter and less need for big muscles. The
smaller diameter of the mast is also a great advantage in manoeuvres, when holding on to
the mast.
Are the mast delivered with a mast bag?
All masts are delivered with a tubular hard case. The rdm masts are also supplied with a universal
boom adapter
Are the masts covered by warranty?
Yes the masts are covered by warranty; please refer to terms and conditions for your country
What is the difference if I use a longer mast in the sail
(compatible mast)?
When using a longer mast in a sail than the recommended length / IMSC grade, the sail will
remain stiffer at all times. This could give a very small advantage in having a bit more power in light wind
conditions. But as soon as the sail has the right wind pressure, the extra stiffness would make the sail feel stiff, less forgiving and less reactive to the impact of gusts and chop. The sail will also get overpowered
earlier than with the recommended mast. Most of our smaller sails have a vario top to allow the use of
longer masts in case needed.
