An Adventure in Words
A Collection of Original Poetry
By Sophia F.
Mood Swing I step out into the brisk wind of fall, Memories swirling above my head Sending tension down my spine, Pulling me back into fierce wind of a washed out memory Showing me a love not yet released. Yanking the fierce memory out of reach Then softly, slowly, silently, releasing, turning, going Back to a place of fallen leaves.
You, Me and Halloween You wait by the door. Peeking through the window, Watching. In a sea of blue satin, dreaming of being a princess. Waiting. You knock again, Hoping for an answer. Dreams of reds and pinks covered in sugar, Touching the tip of your tongue. Now, The door is open and ghosts come rushing at you, With piles of treats, Just like you pictured. Smiling, You run down the street, expecting me to follow, Smiling.
I Still See You Broad shoulders greet me as we speak. I have to look up just to see your smile. Your blue eyes hide behind your long, shaggy hair, But you still laugh and play like I knew you would. Even though the years have crept up on us, You're still full of life. I still see you in the dark of our fights, I know you see me too. I still see you as you, As you encounter mistakes you've made, I still see you grow everyday older, But you grow with the best of intensions. Still see a little red hat on your head, Covering your delicate white hair. I still see a small figure with a large personality. Still see you.
