HaikuNative kauri trees

Birds calling in the Forrest's Fresh after the rain

Fresh, still, sparkling lakes Native underwater life

Fish gliding slowly

New Zealand Maoris Native bush as resources

A tribal culture

Anzacs Sonnet Mothers saying goodbye to their sons Sailing off to defend our loved country

Two months of sailing, rough seas and hot sun Wading through cold seas, they arrived numbly

Enemy fire, soldiers dying Survivors mourning, friends departed Telegrams received, mothers crying

Gallipoli a new day started A terrible place to be, trench warfare

Waiting in trenches, baking under sunlight Letters from home, almost to much to bare War over, sailing home, no longer to fight

Thanks to those brave men our country is in hand We hear their shouts, we hear their cries, God Defend New Zealand

Free VerseSkiing down hill what I like to do Over some jumps and rails too

180,360,540 spin yeah Rails, jumps, pipes and boxes too Because this is what's fun to do Sometimes it's straight down hill

I wish I could get paid with a NZ dollar bill Although I don't like race

I like the pace Lip slide, safety grab

Make me so fab

Beware the man Sam Hunt

Personal Response

I liked it when the poet used Imagery to show about get pushed into something you don't want to do. The sentence "Big Black Hat made me feel overpowered by just a single big hat. The poem made me think if I had put pressure on someone or someone had put pressure on me to do something.
