Sunday with dadA Sunday is so typical when Dad is aroundThe morning starts With a loud TV sound.
One groan from my sisterand another from meDoesn't melt his heart To let us sleep for a minute or three.
Mom tries to catch upOn her wee bit of sleepFor she knows Dad is thereTo make a cup of tea.But once we are all upIt all seems so brightFor that's the only dayWhen Dad has all the time.
The squeaky squirrelSqueaky squirrel is a little sad His bushy tail is looking badOnce it was a shiny oneThen someone used itAs a babys bottlebrush!
But he likes the babySo hes no longer sadThe babys mother haspromised him a good bath!
The crows lunchThe crow sat on the tree Waiting for lunch
What would it be? Rice, roti - or earthworm?
Lunch was none of theseThe family was on a fast
Disgusted, the crow swooped downIf not curry, maybea bland earthworm?
But the worms werent thereThe crow wasnt early enoughWhat has the world come to,cried the crowNo thought for others!
The hippo loves the waterside Where it can bathe and swim and glide And all the little fishes there Swim away and cry - 'beware'! The hippo loves to laze all day And snooze the winter noon away He's never cold, for don't you see He needs no quilt like you and me?
The sparrows nestOh, why does the sparrow build a nest in the rain? Won't the downpourwash the nest away? Asked the child, to her grandmother.
Monsoon is a timewhen there arelots of worms, and that means foodfor the little ones!
That's why sparrows build a nest in the rain, said the grandmother with a smile
