The Albany Harness Racing Club supports, in principle, the TAB.(Disposal) Bi/12019 as drafted and unamended as ·,,vc believe this provides the right legislative framework to best negotiate the sa!e of the TAB and support the \Nestern Australian racing industry going forwards.

The C!ub recommends the sa!e be subject to the Board of Rcc\ng and Wagering 'Western Austrn!ia being

authorised to have the final determination if they. the board, are after careful consideration and exercising due diligence, arrive at the conclusion that should the sr1le not be in the best interests of the industry, retain ownership of the entity.

Furthermore, the Club is desirous that, dunng the Expression of Interest process, the stakeholders be consulted ~nd feedback provided regarding outcomes resulting from the negotiations between the Board and selected party.

I am writing to you on behalf of the Western Australian Racehorse Owners Association (WAROA) with

regard to the TAB (Disposal) 2019.

WAROA has over 1000 members in its own right but in addition we are the nominated body charged

with the responsibility of representing all owners and part owners of thoroughbreds in this State which

is over 5000.

WAROA supports the TAB (Disposal0 Bill 2019 as drafted. For far too long there has been a cloud of

uncertainty hovering over our Industry which directly relates to the potential sale of the TAB. That

degree of uncertainty has manifested itself in a noticeable lack of confidence in the long term future of

the Industry which needs to be arrested quickly.

We are in no doubt the passage of this Bill will result in a significant boost to the confidence levels in the

Industry for all participants and as well we are certain the Bill provides the right legislative framework to

achieve the best outcome for both the State and the WA Racing Industry going forward.
