Day 1 Arrive at Les ContaminesFlight from Dublin to Geneva followed by a bus transfer to our starting point, Les Contamines. Once we have settled into our accommodation, there will be a short briefing about our route, followed by dinner and a good nights sleep.
Day 2 Les Contamines to Les Chapieux We begin our trek with a steep ascent to the Col Du Bonhomme (2329m), before traversing to the Croix du Bonhomme (2479m). This will be our lunch stop and trekkers will be rewarded with awesome views down into the Valle des Chapieux. We then descend to Les Chapieux, our home for the evening. Day two is a testing start but the fantastic views and the satisfaction of coming over the Col du Bonhomme will make it all worthwhile!
Day 3 Les Chapieux to Rifugio ElisabettaToday well be greeted by open pastures and snowfields before arriving at the Col de la Seigne (2,516m) and the border with Italy. Once across the border we descend into the beautiful Val Veny, passing picturesque glacial lakes en route.
Day 4 Rifugio Elisabetta to Courmayeur The route to Courmayeur is straight forward, but involves a short uphill section. This route will offer stunning views of Monte Bianco. Courmayeur is the biggest town on the Italian Monte Bianco circuit. Trekkers will have a free evening to explore the town.
Day 5 Courmayeur to Champex From Courmayeur, it is a short bus ride to Arnuva, where we will resume our trek. Switzerland beckons today as we cross the river dora di ferret to reach the Swiss side of Val Ferret, a beautiful alpine valley.
