Their worth is ever increasing. New Delhi, July 20 Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will embark on a five day visit to Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa from 23rd of this month. Briefing media on the visit in New Delhi, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the External Affairs Ministry, Shri T S Tirumurti said, in the first leg of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will reach Rwanda on the 23rd for a two day visit. He said, India will extend two lines of credit to that country, of USD 100ml each for agricultural sector and industrial sector. Prime Minister Shri Modi will have an interaction with Indian community there. He will meet the leadership PM Modi to embark on three nation tour to Africa from July 23 of Rwanda and will be accorded ceremonial reception. India will also give 200 cows to Rwanda during the visit as part of an initiative to foster brotherhood and prosperity. Prime Minister will be accompanied by high level business delegation during his visit. Secretary also said that India is contemplating to further enhance its strategic partnership with Rwanda. The Prime Minister will depart from Rwanda to Uganda on the 24th where he will call on the President. Shri Modi will have delegation level talks and will address Indian community. PM Shri Modi will also address the parliament of Uganda. Two lines of credit worth USD 164ml will be extended to Uganda during the visit. In the last leg of his visit, Prime Minister Shri Modi will reach South Africa on the 25th to attend the 10th BRICS summit at Johannesburg. He will also meet South African President. Govt approves special remission scheme for prisoners as part of Commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th Birth Anniversary New Delhi, July 20 The Union Cabinet has approved a remission scheme for certain categories of prisoners, including women, transgenders and physically disabled, under which they will be set free on satisfying the given criteria. The remission is part of commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi recently. The scheme will cover those women and transgenders who have crossed the age of 55 years, and men over 60 years of age, given they have served 50 per cent of their total sentence. Prisoners with over 70 per cent disability and who have served 50 per cent of their sentence will also be covered under the scheme -- irrespective of their age. Terminally ill prisoners will also be considered under the scheme. The scheme is, however, conditional and those convicted of murder, acts of terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, rape, dowry death and human trafficking will not be covered. The prisoners will be released in three phases, starting 2nd October this year. New Delhi, July 20 WhatsApp today said its users in India will not be allowed to forward more than five chats at once. As part of its efforts to reduce circulation of fake messages on the platform that have even incited mob lynching incidents, the company said that it will remove the quick forward button that appears next to media messages. In a blogpost, WhatsApp WhatsApp to restrict simultaneous message forwarding to five chats in India noted that its users in India "forward more messages, photos, and videos, than any other country in the world". The Facebook- owned company has over one billion users globally, of which over 200 million are in India. WhatsApp has received flak from the Indian Government over fake news and false information being circulated on its messaging platform. Yesterday, the Government shot off a second notice to WhatsApp asking it to come out with effective solutions to curb the menace of fake news beyond just labelling forwards.
