ABOUT PLUMEN

Hulger is the creator of the world’s first designer energy saving light bulbs. We have taken a familiar, existing design and transformed it. The energy efficient light bulb is now a desirable object to show and enjoy.

Launched in 2010, the Plumen family has expanded to include two designs of energy efficient light bulb and six colours of Drop Cap Pendant Sets.

We celebrate new technologies, champion good ideas and are intent on developing products that elevate everyone’s experience of light.

AWARD-WINNING DESIGNThe Plumen 001 was awarded the Brit Insurance Design of the Year by the Design Museum in London and the prestigious Black Pencil at the D&AD awards in 2011. It is included in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Smithoso-nian Cooper-Hewitt Collection, The Art Institute of Chicago and the Design Museum in Helsinki.

MEET THE PLUMEN DESIGNERS

Samuel Wilkinson and Michael-George Hemus, winners of the Brit Insurance Design Award 2011 at Design Museum on March 15, 2011 in London, England. Their redesign of the low energy light bulb, Plumen 001, was the overall winner out of seven categories at the awards.

During the Plumen 002 design process, Hulger worked closely with French designer Bertrand Clerc in developing the form of the Plumen 002 light bulb.

TECH SPECPlumen is proud to create designer lighting for the home that is both beautiful and energy efficient. To develop our first product, the Plumen 001, Hulger worked together with British designer Samuel Wilkinson. The result was an energy efficient light bulb that, instead of being hidden from as so many other bulb designs are, is designed to be on show.

Following the form of the Original PLUMEN 001 design, the Baby model shrinks into a more compact format. The Baby PLUMEN 001 works like any other high quality energy saving bulb - saving you 80% on your energy bills and lasting 8 times longer than a standard incandescent bulb.
