Welcome to the Q4 2018 PlibricoMixer I hope everyone had anenjoyable Thanksgiving surroundedby family and friendsReflecting on 2018 ndash what comes tomind were the winds of change blewfirmly in both directions this year- bothinside Plibrico and in the marketplace ingeneral Externally we enjoyed tailwinds of astrong US economy which boosted theindustry confidence and as a resultcapital spending While at the same timewe battled headwinds of recordunemployment rates and continued costpressures with our overseas rawmaterials And If that wasnrsquot enough wesprinkled on a little tension betweencountries - just to spice it up a bitInternally wersquove continued to add somegreat talent defined built and improvedmany business processes and investedin tools and equipment that will driveefficiencies and strengthen ourfoundation for which we can build uponLast quarter we were anticipating thatQ4 was shaping up to be busy asmanufacturers re-evaluated their earlierdecision of manufacturers to postponepreventative maintenance in favor ofproduction Materialproductionshipments have steadilyincreased since the tail end of the

summer and most of the constructionoffices are reporting strong businessactivities ndash especially in the SE whereseveral large project awards have thembusting at the seams While it doesnrsquotlook like we will hit our budget for theyear I am optimistic about 2019 andbeyond Not only are we going into theyear with one of the largest projectbacklogs in years but it appears that theeconomy remains strong We will staytrue to our plan with investing in ourfuture -key investments in peopleprocesses and equipment to support ourgrowthItrsquos the holiday season and while thisshould be a time of joy and happinessfor many itrsquos not so this year Plibrico issponsoring our first Community ServiceProject for St Jude Childrens ResearchHospital Together with our PliPartners

wersquove gathered approximately 90 volunteers to assemble craft kits provided by Plibrico for the St Jude Happy Cart- providing a much-needed distraction for children and their families less fortunate than us For those who are participating thanks I appreciate it I look forward to seeing everyone during my quarterly trip to the offices but if we happen to miss each other I look forward to seeing you next timeTo all our employees and PliPartners - I wish each of you and your families joy and warmth this holiday season a wonderful Christmas and a SAFE and enjoyable New Years

PlibricoDepartmentUpdateENGINEErINGit has been a very busy third quarter This quarter we have been focused on developing a variety of training sessions along with their corresponding materials A lot of the plipartners and managers viewed the training session on corundum during the Succeeding Together conference The department has also been supporting a number of in-personon-site training sessions

MANUFACTUrINGThe last 2 months of the quarter saw production shipments and order volume increase at the oak Hill plant The 4th quarter is looking good and we are hoping to finish the year very strong continuous improvement initiatives

RESEARCH amp DEVELOPMENTOur quality department in 2018developed and implemented a newroot cause and corrective action reviewed and

SALESQ3 was a challenging time as end-users took advantage of high steel and aluminum prices and ran their processing equipment at full capacity foregoing scheduled maintenance outages in favor of maximizing production This resulted in the weakest quarter of the year from a revenue perspective During this time the Sales department was busy laying the groundwork for the unavoidable reckoning which always follows periods of non-stop production wersquore expecting Q4 of 2018 and early 2019 to present more opportunities than usual as end-users are forced to take outages and deal with refractory linings which are desperately in need of repair

MANUFACTUrINGThe last 2 months of the quarter saw production shipments and order volume increase at the oak Hill plant The 4th quarter is looking good and we are hoping to finish the year very strong continuous improvement initiatives

SALESQ3 was a challenging time as end-users took advantage of high steel and aluminum prices and ran their processing equipment at full capacity foregoing scheduled maintenance outages in favor of maximizing production This resulted in the weakest quarter of the year from a revenue perspective During this time the Sales department was busy laying the groundwork for the unavoidable reckoning which always follows periods of non-stop production wersquore expecting Q4 of 2018 and early 2019 to present more opportunities than usual as end-users are forced to take outages and deal with refractory linings which are desperately in need of repair
