May Jesus bless you , your family and vocation! Who can receive Holy Communion? Holy Communion is reserved for those who are unmarried and have received their First Holy Communion. It is also received by those married within the Catholic Church or has their marriage blessed (con-validated) by the Catholic Church. If you are a Catholic who is married outside the Catholic Church or is living together please refrain from receiving Holy Communion. Those who are married outside the Church please come forward and talk with the priest to have your marriage blessed in the Church, and have this obstacle removed so you can receive Holy Communion. Couples who use contraception with no desire to stop using contraception are also to refrain from receiving Holy Commun- ion. If you desire to stop using contraception, come to Confession and let the priest help remove this obstacle of receiving Holy Communion. For one to receive Holy Communion we need to attend Mass every weekend and Holy Days of Obligation—we need to be in a state of grace with no mortal sin on our souls. We need to have gone to Confession recently, or at least once a year. Missing Mass is a mortal sin, unless you have a good reason (ie, you were sick, taking care of someone who is sick or extreme weath- er). If you missed Mass, not for a good reason, go to Confession and confess this sin prior to receiving Holy Communion. Generation Art Where faith, age, art & culture collide. ST. ANN PARISH VISION STATEMENT

That Almighty God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - be glorified through the salvation of all peoples in the Turtle Mountains.

ST. ANN’S PARISH MISSION STATEMENT

As a Eucharistic family united in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, under the maternal patronage of Saint Ann, we strive to bring the healing Light of

Christ to all in need of His Divine Love. Through our commitment to prayer-ful worship and works of mercy, we share our

Catholic Faith to inherit the Kingdom of God.

Spiritual Communion - “My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacra-ment. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritu-ally into my heart. I embrace you as if You have already come, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.”

Adoration Chapel News Need hours filled for Sunday 7-8pm. Please consider filling these hours or 1 hour that is at your convenience. Thank You!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

This Tuesday (Sept. 8th) at the 5pm is the Installation Mass for Fr. Michael Slovak, SOLT as pastor of St. Ann’s and St. Anthony’s. Tuesday is the birthday of Mary and Fr. Michael would like to give his service to the Turtle Mountains as a special birthday present to Mary. Fr. Frank Miller from Rugby will be present to represent Bishop Folda. ST.ANN’S PARISH COUNCIL: Now taking names for nominations for three spots on the Parish Council. Place names in the collections basket for the next 3 weeks. AFTER MASS: We are looking for people to clean up and sanitize spots after Masses. PLEASE HELP US IN WELCOMING OUR VOLUNTEERS! MASS CONTINUES ON THE RADIO : We will continue to have Mass on KEYA 88.5 FM at 5 pm Mon. - Thu., and Sat., and 10 am on Sun. On Fri. the Mass is not on KEYA, but we have Mass in the Church. A special thanks to Richard and Kim of KEYA who are allowing us to have radio Mass daily. ADORATION CHAPEL HOURS CONTINUE ON THE NORMAL SCHEDULE. Thank you for observing the needed six feet of space in the Chapel. FR. JIM AND FR. TONY ARE NOW VISITING OUR HOME BOUND PARISHIONERS AGAIN. Please call the office if you would rather the priest not to visit your beloveds. CONFESSIONS CONTINUE TO BE OFFERED IN ST. ANN’S PARKING LOT WED. 6-8 PM AND SAT. 12-4 PM. PLEASE CONSIDER HAVING YOUR CHILDREN COME TO ST. ANN’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL NEXT FALL. We are now accepting applications for student enrollment for next year. Our School has the benefit of smaller class sizes. Another benefit to sending your children to St Ann’s School is that the students have religion three times a weeks, and they do not need to attend CCD Sacrament Preparation classes Wed. evenings. PASTOR’S NOTE : My Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As a Church, we often talk about how we are all a part of one family. What does being a family really mean? Last week, we talked about love as a sacrifice or a suffering for anoth-er. This week the readings are about a specific type of suffering or love; this is letting us be corrected or correcting others when they commit errors or even sin. And no one likes

correction!

As a new Pastor for St. Ann’s and St. Anthony’s, I knew that I would be making lots of mistakes as I learned how to do things. My very first Sunday at St. Ann’s, I forgot to light the candles and Fr. Dave lit them during the beginning prayers. I was not offended...I was thankful! Fr. Dave did not accuse me, but assumed I did not do it on purpose and he simply corrected me by lighting the candles. There is a big difference between accusing and correcting. Our Church has a lot of rules or commandments or teachings. All of these are given for things that we may often forget or accidentally not do. Who wants to NOT honor their parents or steal or kill? These things still happen, and can often be seen as plainly as NOT lighting candles for Mass. As Christians we are always called to lovingly

correct and help each other, NOT accuse.

The Church has always followed the phrase “love the sinner and hate the sin.” Love the priest that is doing his best and hate the action that he did not light the candles. Love our brothers and sisters, even when we notice their actions are sins or break a rule of the Church. The readings today tell us how to lovingly correct others, but the most important thing is always the spirit of love. Jesus said from the Cross, “forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.” Jesus did not accuse or condemn, but lovingly correct-ed. Every time someone does wrong...we must try to assume they do not know and lov-ingly help them. Only in love can we help each other and not offend! May we always be thankful for others' help or correction, and have the courage to help or correct others in

love! May God Bless You All!

-Fr. Michael

Soul of Christ, sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me; Blood of Christ, inebriate me; Water from the side of Christ, wash me;

passion of Christ, strengthen me; O good Jesus, hear me; within your wounds, hide me; separated from You, let me never be;

from the evil one, protect me; at the hour of my death, call me; and close to You, bid me; that with your Saints, I may be,

praising You forever and ever. Amen.
