Introduction

Last year, with the encouragement of the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council (ORCC) and the backing of the Parish Council, a steering group of volunteers (see below) started developing a community-led plan for Fulbrook. The objectives for a Fulbrook Village Plan are:

To build on the existing good community spirit we have in Fulbrook and increase inclusiveness

To identify village-wide issues of concern and practical steps to address them To provide an up-to-date village fact base to help inform local planning

decisions and support campaigns for improved infrastructure To identify new volunteers who could help with implementing agreed plan

activities

This work follows on from the Fulbrook Village Appraisal carried out fourteen years ago. It is similar to community plans being carried out by other local parishes in Oxfordshire.

In Fulbrook we want to hear from everyone, especially those who don't usually express their views. We have already sought some ideas via notice boards, the Annual Parish Meeting and Plant and Produce Sale.

This questionnaire is to make sure that we get the views of everybody in the village.

The questionnaire results will help us put together a draft plan for the village. This will be presented to the village for discussion in various meetings and events.

Your responses will be confidential and anonymous. No information will be recorded against individuals’ names and we will not publish the views of any identified household.

Some of the ideas in the questionnaire, such as those on traffic or transport, would be costly to implement. They may not be possible at present but we would still like your views on their desirability.

We are issuing one questionnaire per household as we expect you will mostly want to let us have a collective view. If you want to add more views on this survey please do so on the form if there’s enough space or ask your collector for another copy for your house.

We want as many people as possible to respond but completion of this survey is not compulsory. If there are any questions you’d rather not answer please leave them blank.

Steering Group: Laurence Balbes, John Harrington, Jenny Jones, Phil Lewis (Fulbrook PC Rep), Diana Lethbridge, Jenny Lloyd, Lucy Staveley, Bob Tivey

At the end of the main survey, there is a Young People’s questionnaire which

we would encourage villagers of 18 and under to complete to make sure we

hear their views too.
