It all began in 2009, when Philippe Boisclair put his experience in
the financial and lumber markets toward founding Canadian Wood
Products. During the American recession, and with the arrival of Chris
Labbé as a partner, the company expanded its customer base and
started exporting abroad.
In 2010, the organization made a strategic move to diversify its
activities into the grain business, and continued to seek opportunities
for growth by entering the energy market. Today, McGill St Laurent is
a global entity that operates on worldwide markets. What binds our
activities together is the desire to fulfill your basic needs: “Build, Feed
and Power the planet responsibly”.
At McGill St Laurent we believe that the way we move forward has less
to do with transactions and more to do with relationships. To do this, we
make sure our teams are supported with the latest technologies to keep
them at the forefront of innovation and quality service.
We continuously operate with the vision of developing the next-
generation trading company, fuelled by the best entrepreneurial and
creative minds.

WHY A SPORTS TEAM?
Because everyone brings something to the team. Traders make
points, Logistics and Accounting defend these points, Finance
keep us on track with our goals, and the President leads the team.
At McGill St Laurent, you’ll find yourself in a work environment
that might feel like the locker room after a game. We have the
spirit of a winning team, whatever happens.
We win as a team, not as individuals.
“ WE LIKE TO THINK OF McGILL ST LAURENT AS A STARTUP IN
THE CORPORATE WORLD, THAT’S
MANAGED LIKE A PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TEAM.

YOU DON’T LEARN TO WALK BY FOLLOWING RULES. YOU LEARN BY DOING, AND BY FALLING OVER.
“” - Richard Branson
We don’t have a list of rules for you to follow. Nor do we have a clothing policy, but nudists don’t generally
come to work naked, if you know what I mean.
LESSON: LOGIC AND RESPECT DON’T REQUIRE RULES OR POLICIES.

GAME DAYCome to work as if every day were game day.
Sometimes we need to take vacations. Just make sure you let your team and HR know, so we can take over while you’re not around.
Came down with something? It happens. Again, keep your team and HR in the loop and we’ll understand.
PHONESWe don’t have an automated answering system when people call because we don’t just sell products, we build relationships. Our clients are the reason we’re all here.
Neither do we transfer a call to a voicemail without asking the person if it’s okay with them.
We also answer the phone, wherever it rings in the office, even if it’s not your station.
That’s what makes McGill St Laurent a team dedicated to its partners.

RESPONSIBILITIESDo you bike to work? There’s room to store it, so just ask! But please don’t use the elevator...
You prefer taking the bus, train or metro? Great! We’ll pay for 80% of your transportation pass.
A healthy mind in a healthy body starts with fruits and veg, and sometimes a coffee… We’ve got it all in the kitchen, so feel free to help yourself! You can also come work out with the rest of us for free! Wednesday morning is girls’ day at the gym; Tuesday and Thursday are for boys in the park.
Addicted to sports too? We attend many sporting events, and you may be lucky enough to get to go see your favourite team! We also sponsor several athletes — check out our Facebook page to follow their accomplishments!
