GB 3.5.2017 Platon DE20 Water storage and drainage board for extensive green roofs Product description Platon DE20 Green Roof Tray is a studded sheet with formed cavities and channels. When applied to a green roof construction, above a root protecting layer and below a filter fabric, the cavities are able to store water, which percolates through the soil from the surface vegetation. Water rising above the level of the interconnecting channels is distributed between cavities. Drainage slits through the channels allow excess water to drain through to the gap below (created by the studs), so that drainage takes place above the root protecting layer across the flat roof. The product thereby creates both a drainage layer and a water storage layer in the construction. Application Platon DE20 Green Roof Tray is incorporated in a type of roof construction defined as an extensive green roof system, within the lower storage capacity range (up to 5,0 litre per m²). Installation Lay with the studs down, without fixing, on top of the roof waterproofing membrane (already covered by a root protection layer, if necessary). Sheets may be placed quickly because they retain their form during transport and storage as flat sheets. Platon DE20 should be filled with water after installation for protection of wind suction and overheating in summer. The green roof tray must be covered within one day. Cut if necessary at drainage gulley or change in roof slope and lay edge to edge. Cover with a filter fabric before the substrate covering is laid. Storage Sheets of Platon DE20 Green Roof Tray should be stored flat when stored over long periods and preferably under cover.
