KU Super Plus++ As a leader of Kasetsart University, I will do my best to develop effective strategies for the successful of the University’s administrative work, money and people based on the Principles for Good Governance and the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy. I certainly plan to complete the current projects and support the future tasks for the interest of Kasetsart University. My concept of Policy Driven is 6U; which including of Green University, Digital University, Research University, Happiness University, Social Responsibility University and World Class University. Next I will lead us into KU SMART. To achieve our success, KU must focus on the fundamental of Sincerity, Morality, Ability, Responsibility, and Teamwork. Employee need to be willing to work together and help each other. KU must develop efficiency and effectively property and revenue management systems.

To my mind, it is necessary to revise our curriculums to make students realize the challenging problems that our world is facing today and in the future such as the drought problems, global warming problems, aging society issues, and the global scramble for natural resources issues. Kasetsart University will consistency applies the sufficiency economy philosophy that His Majesty the King pointed way of life for the people of Thailand. Nowadays, we must be admitted that the new generation is not interested in the field of Agriculture, Agriculture Industry or forestry, which is the root of our land. Therefore, my part is to cultivate these sciences into the minds of these young people. Kasetsart University will continue to adapt and embrace into the practice of the king’s theory to create knowledges of the land for the well-being of our nation.

The Faculty of Economics, Kasetsart Univeristy launched the 3rd of SMART Project (short for Student Multidisciplinary Applied Research Team) from January 1-20, 2016 with the collaboration between Cornell University and Kasetsart University. The participants in the program came from multidisciplinary fields of both universities: two from economic entrepreneur, three from agribusiness one from food science, one from public affairs, one form applied economics and one from in chemical engineering management. The program aimed at increasing students’ awareness and theoretical understanding so they would be able to analyze critically in real-life situations. This year Mr. Sittichai and Pissanu Daengprasert (Plant Director and NPD & OEM Director of CDIP company, Thailand) gave the SMART team an opportunity to explore the company operation process and its challenges as part at their case study analysis. The research problem concerned how to discover the potential markets both in Asia and Thailand regarding raw material and the finished product of the crocodile oil, an innovation of CDIP. Apart from academic experience, all students learned how to work collaboratively in a team, how to communicate with people from different cultures, and how to think systematically.

Lotus is praised as the queen of aquatic plants. Kasetsart University, Chalermphrakiat Sakhon Nakhon Province Campus has established lotus seeds bank, collecting both domestic and foreign lotus seeds which acumulates to more than 34 species in the 50-rai Lotus and Water Lily Garden. The place also exhibits 74 species of lotus and water lily in vases. The place is aimed to be a learning center for aquatic plants which have long been tied to Thai way-of–life. The Lotus and Water Lily Garden is located in Kasetsart University, Chalermphrakiat Sakhon Nakhon Province Campus. The biggest Lotus and Water Lily Garden in Thailand is under the academic collaboration between Kasetsart University and Sakhon Nakhon Province initiated in 2005. The 50 rai garden is a part of Nong Harn Chalermphrakiat Park which was a damp area full of lotuses. In 2009, KU Chalermphrakiat Sakhon Nakhon Province Campus started experiments and research on lotus plantation. Benefits of northeastern Royal Lotus has been disco-vered leading to the establishment of the Lotus and Water Lily Garden. The garden was the venue when KU hosted the 1st International Conference on Lotus and Water Lily in 2010. After the conference, the garden was then diversified and developed. It has now become a new tourist attraction in the province so as to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of HRH. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s birthday in 2015. The areas comprise: 1. Indoor Exhibition 2. Outdoor Exhibition 3. Aquatic Pond The garden is opened daily during 08.30-18.00 hrs. except for the Indoor Exhibition Hall which is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
