How do seed plants reproduce?

anther: structure at the tip of a stamen that produces pollen

filament: a long tube that connects the anther to the base of the flower

stigma: structure at the tip of a pistil where pollen can land

Pollen is produced in the anther. Pollen grains travel by wind, water, gravity, and animals from the anther to the stigma, where pollination occurs.

Pollen tube grows to reach egg in ovary. Sperm are released from the pollen tube and fertilize the egg.

A fertilized egg goes through mitosis to become a zygote. The ovule becomes a seed!

The ovary will develop into a fruit. The fruit will contain one or more seeds.

The seeds can grow into new, genetically related plants that produce flowers
