Information
When IBAUHAMBURG wasestablished as anengineering company in 1975,we started with animmediate success, the CENTRALCONE SILO.
At that time therewere only very fewpeople who believed that thistype of silo couldsucceed.
Now, after morethan 30 successful, years, the IBAU CENTRALCONE SILO canrightly claim tohave had a majorimpact on the silotechnology relatedto the storage and retrieval ofpow dered mineralbulk products.
In the pictures onthe right the diffe-rent steps of a silobuilding areshown, i.e. fromthe start of buil-ding the silo to itscompletion and itsstart-up.

Raw Meal Silos Information
IBAU RAWMEAL SILOS are,in most cases, double purposesilos.
They serve as acombined storageand blending silo. The discharge technique of theIBAU CENTRALCONE SILOsimply creates ablending effect.
Expensive homo-genizing silos with a high powerconsumption are not required, provided there is a sufficiently working preblending systemfor crushed lime-stone.
The pictures on theright show the rawmeal silo forSIGNALMOUNTAINCEMENT,Chattanooga,Tennessee, with asilo diameter of14 m (46 ft) anda total silo capacityof 4000 m3
(141,000 cu.ft).

Cement Silos Information
Cement silo for LEHIGH CEMENT, Union Bridge, Maryland
IBAU CENTRALCONE SILOS – in many differentvarieties – are the most efficientsilos for storageand dispatch ofcement.
The central cone is used to accom-modate the neces-sary machinery andequipment such as: blowers, filters, electric controlboards, compres-sors, IBAUPUMPS, etc.
Silos with a raisedbottom – built asdrive through silos– are favoured, because no inter-mediate transportis required to feedthe packer or the bulk loadingfacilities.
Different examplesof cement plantswith rail car unloa-ding facilities andbulk loadingstations are shownin the pictures onthe right.

Multi-Compartment Silos Information
The IBAUCENTRAL CONESILO has, since itwas first built in1977, constantlydeveloped, leadingup to the hugemulti-compartmentsilos of today.
MULTI-COMPARTMENTSILOS can be more than just a silo, they can be a major part of a production plantfor a variety ofbuilding materials.
The production ofspecial elementsrequires mixers, binweighing stations, and finished-producttransport equipment, all placed underthe cone.
On the right can beseen the multi-compartment silosfor GCC located inSamalyuca, Mexico, with 3 compart-ments, equipmentand bulk loadingfacilities for roadand rail carriers.

Special Applications Information
Apart from thestandard aspects of our business, IBAU also supplies elements or plantswhich are speci -fically designed tomeet the specialrequirements of our customers.
This can, forinstance, be a plantfor the conveying, storage and bulk loading ofpaintdust, or theconversion of existing, inefficientsilos for the storage of filterdustor fly ash, etc.
A special applicati-on is the coal duststorage in UnionBridge, Maryland, for LEHIGHCEMENT as wellas the fly ash stora-ge and handlingequipment. ForGCC, DenverTerminal is showna hydraulic opera-ted rail waggondischarge station.

Shiploaders and -unloaders Information

IBAU equipment is custom-built tosuit the specificconditions determi-ning each project(i.e. product variety, loadingcapacity, transportdistances and localmarket conditions).Standard parts and equipment arethe main compo-nents of theseunits. They can be powered bydiesel engines orreceive electricpower from localsources.

Cement Carriers Information
The IBAU PUMP in the midship tunnelMidship tunnel with screw conveyor
The trade ofcement and similarproducts resultsin new ship capaci-ties and more andmore conversionsof conventionalbulk carriers intospecialized cementself-unloaders.Self-unloadingcement carriersneed no shorebased ship unload-ing equipment andhave a completelyenclosed cargohandling system, using a fluidizedsystem in the cargoholds for cementunloading.
One example isgiven by theconvertion of theM.V. GLEN VINEinto a self-unloa-ding cement carrierwith a storagecapacity of60,000 dwt.For discharge,7 IBAU PUMPSare installed. Thetotal unloadingcapacity is approx.1000 t/h.

Marine Terminals Information
MARINETERMINALconcepts by IBAUHAMBURG arebased on a varietyof advanced andreliable mechanicaland pneumaticsystem compo-nents. Technicalcompetence andengineering from asingle source con-tribute to findingthe most costeffective technicalsolution for eachproject and toensure the subse-quent functioningof the entire termi-nal system.
For ANTILLESCEMENTCORPORATIONa discharge systemhas been designedwith a bulk loadingstation and aspecial type of flatstorage hall witha total capacity of30,000 t.
