Plant Assessor Sponsoring Technology in Civil Construction

Plant Assessor is very pleased to have been a sponsor of the annual Earthmover & Civil Contractor Awards event held at Cockle Bay Wharf in Sydney last night.

Now in its �fth year, we’ve been a supporter of the event since its inception and have sponsored the Technology Release of the Year Award for the past few years, something dear to our heart as pioneers in safety technology.

This year there were eight �nalists in the awards, these included four earthmoving equipment suppliers and four other suppliers as set out below.

We were very pleased that all four earthmoving equipment supplier �nalists are Plant Assessor clients. We suppose we could say it was no surprise given our clients tend to be highly innovative in development of their products, and innovative in the use of technology in their businesses.

The themes arising from the �nalists’ entries were remote control & autonomous equipment, machine control systems, machine e�ciency and intuitiveness

The winner of the 2016 award was Loadscan for their Load Volume Scanner. This product has quickly become the market leading ‘non-contact’ dump truck and tip truck load measurement system and uses laser scanning, intelligent software and RFID technology to accurately measure bulk materials volumes. The system is most commonly used in the construction, mining, quarry and mulch and biomass sectors. The bene�ts of ensuring the right load size are numerous, the most obvious being ensuring maximum production e�ciency but also ensures safety and has cost saving bene�ts such as minimising tyre wear. Loadscan is a New Zealand based business that markets the product in Australia through its Brisbane based agent, Transcale.
