The Bible says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” - John 10:27

That was the theme this Saturday. The pro lifers prayed and multiple people who came to the clinic or

were driving by on the access road approached them and held hands with the pro lifers as they prayed

over them. The first person to walk down and speak to the pro lifers was a man named Robert who was

coming to Planned Parenthood for medication.

When he heard the name of God spoken in Spanish he turned around and saw the pro lifers and walked

down to share his story. He told them he was a military veteran who almost lost his life four times in

Iraq and Afghanistan… and that he felt that God spared him. He said he came to Planned Parenthood to

get his medication because the VA hospital has a long line and long wait, and it’s a farther drive.

A pro lifer pointed to the people holding signs and praying and said, “These people are being

inconvenienced too. They are giving up their Saturday to stand in the heat and pray because they love

Robert and others who have come to this clinic.”

Robert said he was against abortion but that he had to think about himself.

That sums up the modern Christian. They are intellectually opposed to “sin” unless or until it

inconveniences them to be opposed to it. And that’s why abortion is legal in the United States.

It’s easy to love God, until it requires a personal sacrifice. The apostle Paul wrote, “I beseech you

therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,

acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” - Romans 12:1

And then Robert said, “I hope you won’t judge me for going into Planned Parenthood.”

And the pro lifer responded, “My opinion is 100% irrelevant and so are the people around us. What

matters is what God thinks.”

It’s a common theme that sinners are more sensitive to our opinion than God’s opinion. The Bible tells

us, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” - Mark 8:36

A lot of very popular people who profess the name of Christ won’t make it to heaven. And that’s

because they sought the approval of other Christians and not the approval of God that comes through

obedience to His will – they never knew God. Jesus said, “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father

which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” – Matt. 12:50

So what is God’s will? The Bible tells us, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain

from sexual immorality.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:3

Planned Parenthood exists because our culture and many churches have embraced sexual immorality at

virtually every level – from the pastor promoting contraception to the parishioner walking through the

doors of the abortuary complaining of an “unplanned pregnancy”.

But God calls us to be sanctified.

Page 2: Plano Prayer Vigil. (week #5)

So what is sanctification? Here is what it means, “act or process of acquiring sanctity, of being made or

becoming holy.”

God wants us to be holy and acceptable… but sinners are unholy and unwashed. And that is why Jesus

Christ had to die on a cross to wash away those sins. And we are born a second time and given a second

chance and that is when our sanctification begins.

I tell everyone that when you show up to the spiritual battlefield God becomes your coach – and there is

no better coach than God. It is impossible to walk with God and talk with God and follow his instruction

and not become a better warrior of the Lord. It’s only when we deny God and come up with excuses to

avoid the spiritual battlefield that we become “backslidden Christians”.

No amount of Church can remedy it. If sitting in a church was the solution we wouldn’t have human

sacrifice.

Every time we ignore the sin of this world because it inconveniences us we are NOT doing God’s will –

because God wants sinners to come to repentance, “The Lord does not delay His promise, as some

understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.” - 2

Peter 3:9

Because 20 Christians obeyed the command of God and went out into the world to preach the Gospel a

man named Robert heard about God’s great love for him and God’s requirement that we become a

living sacrifice. The Bible says, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his

cross daily, and follow me.” – Luke 9:23

And that’s why 104 degree heat or 20 degrees below zero cannot stop us. The mortal coil did not stop

Jesus. He didn’t give up because the road was difficult and the challenge great. He persevered to the

very end and defeated death.

And then he sent the Holy Spirit to give us the strength to overcome our own weakness and become

spiritual warriors capable of doing greater things, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me,

the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my

Father.” – John 14:12

As the pro lifers spoke to Robert the staff inside of Planned Parenthood took notice and became

enraged. A clinic worker stormed out and began yelling and waving a hand gesture as pro lifers prayed

over her from afar.

The Holy Spirit was at work on her soul. The clinic worker was responding to the sanctification of God’s

people out on the grass.

When those who are blinded by the darkness see the light of God there is a reaction – sometimes it’s

repentance and salvation, and other times it’s rage and rebellion. And it’s often rage and rebellion

before the repentance and salvation. ;-)

Page 3: Plano Prayer Vigil. (week #5)

The angry clinic worker took down the license plates of cars, but she would not come down to talk. That

is a new development… the pro lifers have staked a claim to the grass. They have claimed authority as

emissaries of God over Planned Parenthood and their altar of human sacrifice.

The pro lifers prayed with Robert that God would provide another path for him and that he would be

healed or given the strength to cope with his illness. He shook their hands walked into the clinic.

Robert didn’t know you would be praying his deliverance. He just had the good sense to walk down and

pray with the pro lifers for his soul.

Later, a man named Tim would pull over and ask the pro lifers about their presence in front of Planned

Parenthood. A few minutes later Tim was holding hands with the pro lifers as they closed in prayer. If

nothing else happened it would have been a great day.

Everyone packed up and they headed toward their cars. A few pro lifers were chatting next to their cars

when a homeless man named Terence approached them. He was drunk and little bit wobbly.

They asked him if believed in God and he said, “Yes… he’s in my heart.” And then they asked him if he

wanted to serve God and he said yes… and then they all held hands and prayed for a miracle in the life

of Terence – that God would give him the strength to overcome his alcohol addiction.

They told him they had seen God transform a homeless alcoholic and heal them. That story is here.

When they asked where he lived he pointed to the sidewalk and said, “That’s where I sleep.” And then

he showed them his bullet wounds and a large knife wound in his back which he said barely missed his

lungs – this was the second person to recount having almost lost his life on multiple occasions.

He said he was panhandling for food. And then the pro lifers offered him water which he took and then

they said, “God can give you something better than food and water. He can give you spiritual healing.”

We know this because Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry,

and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – John 6:35

That is why God sends us out in the world… to quench the spiritual thirst of those lost in a desert of sin.

God is the life saving oasis that lost sinners seek, but if we’re too busy with our personal lives then we

miss out on the blessings of being able to deliver that life saving message.

Every Saturday is a sacrifice and every Saturday is filled with blessings!
