Additional Comments:• Add turn lanes or improvements at school driveways to reduce congestion

• Improve/lengthen eastbound left-turn lane from State Bridge Road to northbound Medlock Bridge Road

• Better street signage prior to ALL turn lanes

• Create better bicycle connections between Johns Creek and the Big Creek Greenway and Suwanee Greenway

• “Smart” traffic signals

• Have a true Greenway along Johns Creek creek

• Green/clean buses should be an option for well-traveled commercial routes (with park-n-ride lots)

• Add turn lanes along Abbotts Bridge Road

• Remove school bus stops on main roads

• Add southbound right-turn lane from Barnwell Rd to Holcomb Bridge Rd.

• Restriping on Parsons Rd near St. Ives driveway

• Bring MARTA up GA 400 with transit links to it

• Public transportation or easier access to MARTA

• Please bring MARTA busses to Jones Bridge Rd or a park and ride to connect to the MARTA train

• Add public transit that connects NE Johns Creek with rest of MARTA

• Improve roads in the Shakerag area to provide access to Cauley Creek Park

EXERCISE: PLANNING GOALS1. Form groups.

2. Review the list of planning goals as decided by the CAC.

3. Rank the goals, with 1 being the MOST important goal.

4. Be prepared to share your results, and explain the reasoning behind them.

EXERCISE: CHARACTER AREASEach table has:• A map showing all 12 character areas• An informational packet about the character areas• Trace paper and markers for your use

Steps:Step 1. Discuss the character areas to be kept, consolidated, changed, or added.

Step 2. Identify possible redevelopment nodes using your blank map, and suggest possibilities of what that redevelopment could be (entertainment district, restaurant district, arts center, etc)

Step 3. Identify ways to connect those nodes via new roads, trails, greenways, etc.

Step 4. Elect a representative from your table to present your ideas.
