Planning Intervention Behind every program there is an overall game plan or

intervention strategy. This plan integrates the problemor opportunity to be addressed , the desired outcomes of

the programs, and the sequencing and timings of thevarious interventions.

Intervention strategies are based on diagnosis and thegoals desired by the client system.

Intervention design or action planning, derives fromcareful diagnosis and is meant to resolve specific

problems and to improve particular areas of organizationalfunctioning as identified in the diagnosis.

    Importance of documentation and

case notes Need to keep careful records of internet research,

interview data, meetings, research data, and decisionsmade.

You do not want to keep reinventing the wheel i.e.finding information or forgetting that decisions havealready been made.

Organizers engage in praxis action and reflection tosee if actions are appropriate or successful or if they

need to be modified. Organizers need to have a way to evaluate their own

practice and discuss issues with supervisors.

Conti Records of consultations with constituents should be

reviewed at subsequent meetings so that decisions canbe made and consensus developed.

Analyses of decision-making processes are importantfor understanding how decisions are made, who willmake them, the power held by decision-makers, andhow decisions can be influenced. This is thecommunity organization equivalent of process

recordings. Minutes should be written up for all committee, board,

    and community meetings.
