Success statement: Success to me will mean being able to live a long, healthy life.

• SMART goal: By July, I want to lose 10 percent of my body weight.• Behavioral goal—I will use an online food journal once per day to keep me

aware of amount and portions of food.• Behavioral goal—I plan to lose up to two pounds per week by watching

portions and walking four times per week for 30 minutes.• Identify obstacles—I am attending an upcoming wedding with lots of

temptations to overindulge. I can eat a light breakfast that morning, take a taste of food and eat a portion only if I can't make it at home or it tastes amazing, and make sure to dance for at least 40 minutes.

• Expected results—I have read that reducing your weight by 10 percent helps to reduce high blood pressure, lower "bad" cholesterol, and take pressure off of your joints. This will help me to be in less pain when I am older.
