3)Subsoil: Minimum depth to be 300mm for all areas.
Relieving subsoil compaction: Subsoil grading of the site shall leave landscape areas with smooth
flowing contours to achieve the specified finished levels when topsoiled. Prior to topsoiling, subsoil
formation should be ripped and loosened to a minimum depth of 450mm. Imported subsoil shall be in
accordance with BS3882 for amenity use.

Feather, maiden and light standard size trees to be planted inexcavated pits 700x700x600 or 500mm greater than the rootball. All - bases of pits to be broken up to a depth of at least 250mm.

BIRD NESTING SEASONVirtually all birds are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as amended, while nesting.Potential nests and nesting birds have implications for land clearance and demolition within the site.Measures can be taken which will aid in minimising the impact and avoid injuring/killing or damaging/destructing birds and their nests. Such measures, which must be adhered to through the development, include:
· carrying out any tree clearance and building demolition during autumn, winter or early spring (September-
February inclusive) to avoid the bird nesting season; and
· if clearance, tree works or building demolition is required during the nesting season, an ecologist or
suitably trained person can carry out checks on vegetation to ensure no nesting birds are present prior tothe works.
