Eligibility to pursue CFPL and receive proficiency (PR) college credit:
1. Student must be accepted into an associate’s degree, technical diploma, certificate, or apprenticeship program at Gateway.
2. Students are responsible to pay any related fees, such as CollegeBoard fees for CLEP exam vouchers, and the associated PLA fee regardless of passing the assessment and receiving credit. Fees are currently $50 for Exam PLA’s, and $90 for both Demonstrative and Portfolio PLA’s, subject to change. The testing center charges $24 for students wishing to take their CLEP exam on our Kenosha Campus. The computers for professionals and Spanish CFPL tests cost only the $15 testing center administration fee.
Instructions:
1. Please email [email protected] and include your name, student id #, and the course #’s of the course(s) you wish to pursue CFPL. 2. Courses with an X or double arrow ↔ in multiple columns (exam / portfolio / demonstrative) means that PLA requires more than one type IE both an exam and a skills demonstration. In that case, only the higher PLA fee will be charged and the student responsibility.
Refund Policy-
The tuition refund policy for CFPL seekers already enrolled in the course they wish to pursue CFPL for is as
follows:
For courses that run 3 or 4 weeks, students have 7 calendar days from the start date of the
course to complete the CFPL process and receive a full
refund of the course tuition. For courses that run 15 or 16 weeks, students have 30
calendar days from the start of the course to complete the CFPL process and receive a full
refund of the course tuition.
Note: You are to remain enrolled in your course and actively participating until you know
you have successfully received PR credit, and can drop it.
