captured by a

computer, this

computer will do the

necessary signal

processing to make it

compatible with the

format you’ve chosen,

we call that step

“Encoding”.

II. After the Data has been

encoded, the signal is

ready to be

broadcasted, &

recorded, it’s then

transmitted at a high

speed through a T1 or

T3 to a big computer

located near the

internet backbone

where the necessary

bandwidth will be freed

& allocated to serve

WHICH ONE IS RIGHT

FOR ME?

COMPATIBILITY,

QUALITY,

PERFORMANCE, COST& LIVE CAPABILITY.

The most aspect that will probably

affect your choice would be

compatibility, as there is nothing more

important that knowing that viewer are

actually getting your media content, &

in this case the 1st choice would be

Adobe Flash, however, the cost of a

Flash server & the encoder is not

cheap, & your encoder’s CPU will have

to have to be Dual/Quad Xeon or more,

it is also the best quality streaming

media, coupled with it’s ON2 VP6

codec, if your concern is performance

then, Windows media server is the logic

choice, despite that encoder is free, this

solution is more realistic toward CPU &

bandwidth restrains, Real is also an

excellent choice from an economical

point of view, but most viewers will

need to download Realplayer.
