- No inappropriate content- Articles that will interest the secondary audience- Suitable imagery

Things to consider…- As my product is going to be distributed with a regional

newspaper, this creates some constraints that I need to be aware of

- To comply with the regional audience this product will need to…- Cover as many regional stories as possible- Relate to the area- Have a local feel

Page 7: Pitch

Constraints – The PCCThe Press Complaints Committee (PCC) is an independent board that ensures journalists and publications aren’t breaking certain rules. These include things such as harassment, privacy, children and discrimination. These guidelines must be closely followed to avoid the PCC being called in in complaint about a magazine/newspaper. Distribution…- Distributed as a supplement magazine to the

Northern Echo- 12,000 16 page magazines on 170 gsm. Coated

paper

- Cheaper to distribute- Likely to reach target audience - Survey shows people are more likely to read a

supplement magazine rather than free product- Easier to build client base as already have ready

made clients with Northern Echo

- Needs to stand out so doesn’t mix with rest of paper

- May not reach full target audience unless it is passed on from other family members/friends
