Cut FabricsFrom border stripe fabric, fussy cut:

• (2) 48½" × 53/4" strips, centered on coffee cupsFrom red dot fabric, cut:

• (3) 1½" × WOF strips Sew into one long strip, then subcut: (2) 1½" × 48½" strips for sashing

Assemble Table RunnerArrange Pinwheel Blocks in a row. Sew together, two at a time, pressing seams open. Join units into groups of four, then join groups together.

Finish Table RunnerLayer table runner, batting, and backing. Quilt as desired.Sew the binding strips into one long strip. Fold binding in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Sew the binding to the front side of the table runner starting at any side. Turn the binding over the edge and machine stitch or hand sew to the back of the table runner.

STEP 6: Repeat Steps 1-5 to make two more HST. You will now have four HST. STEP 7: Lay them out and sew them together as shown, pressing seams open.IMPORTANT: Square each Pinwheel Block to 3½" × 3½". Repeat these steps to make a total of (16) Pinwheel Blocks.

Steps 6-7

Pinwheel Unit should measure 3½" × 48½".Add (1) sashing strip to the top of each border strip. Press seams toward border strip.Add (1) sashing/border strip unit to each side of the Pinwheel Unit. Press seams toward sashing/border strip unit.

PinwheelsIf using Star Singles 11/2" Half Square Triangle Papers: use (8) papers, (8) cream squares, and (8) black squares; follow instructions included with papers to make a total of (64) Half Square Triangles, and proceed to STEP 7.

STEP 1: On the back of (1) cream square, draw a line diagonally from corner to corner. STEP 2: Layer this cream square and one black square, RST, making sure to line up the edges. STEP 3: Sew ¼" on both sides of the drawn line. STEP 4: Cut on the drawn line. Press toward black. STEP 5: You will now have two Half Square Triangles (HST), which should each measure just over 2" × 2" square.
